Kirby Smart confirms growing partnership between Georgia and Atlanta Falcons that provides players with elite professional exposure.

At Georgia’s Pro Day, head coach Kirby Smart offered insight into what could become a valuable new relationship between the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Falcons.

Smart emphasized the mutual benefits of staying connected, highlighting how the partnership could give Falcons scouts early access to top talent and provide Bulldogs players with exposure to professional-level training, coaching, and resources.

The Growing Connection Between Georgia and the Falcons

With Georgia’s consistent success in the SEC and regular appearances in the College Football Playoff, such a collaboration could help bridge the gap between college excellence and NFL readiness, creating a pipeline that benefits both programs and their athletes.

Speaking with the media, Smart emphasized how welcoming the Falcons’ new leadership has been toward the Bulldogs program.

“I got to talk to Kevin (Stefanski) for a while, Matt (Ryan) for a while. They’ve welcomed us to their organization and said, ‘you can come to our place anytime you want,’” Smart said.

That level of openness signals what appears to be a more collaborative era between Georgia football and the Falcons’ headquarters in Flowery Branch.

The growing relationship reflects a shift in how the Falcons are engaging with in-state talent pipelines. Smart noted that the organization “knows what this university has to offer,” reinforcing Georgia’s reputation as one of college football’s premier programs.

The presence of respected figures like Matt Ryan, long considered a class act during his tenure in Atlanta, and Kevin Stefanski suggests a leadership group focused on building meaningful connections.

For the Falcons, this partnership could provide a competitive edge. Increased access to Georgia’s program means more firsthand scouting opportunities, deeper familiarity with prospects, and stronger relationships with players entering the NFL Draft. Given Georgia’s recent dominance, that’s no small advantage.

Georgia has consistently produced elite NFL talent, making the Bulldogs a valuable in-state resource. Strengthening ties with the program could help Atlanta.

By staying closely connected to Georgia, the Atlanta Falcons can gain early insight into top prospects, build trust with players before the draft process, and potentially position themselves as a preferred landing spot for Georgia athletes.

Considering Georgia’s sustained success, including SEC championships and regular College Football Playoff contention, the Falcons would be wise to maintain that pipeline.

How the Georgia Bulldogs Benefit

The collaboration isn’t one-sided. The Georgia Bulldogs football team stands to benefit significantly as well. Through connections with the Atlanta Falcons, Bulldogs players gain exposure to professional-level training and preparation, insight into NFL expectations and development, and access to additional resources that can accelerate their growth.

This kind of access can further elevate an already elite program and strengthen Georgia’s reputation as a pipeline to the NFL.

Georgia continues to rank among the top teams nationally. According to PFSN metrics, the Bulldogs have demonstrated strong balance, with both PFSN CFB offensive and defensive impact scores ranking within the top 30 in college football.

Additionally, Georgia holds the ninth-best odds (4.1%) to win the national championship, per the PFSN CFB playoff meter. With potential new access to NFL-level resources, those odds could improve even further, especially if Smart fully capitalizes on the opportunity.

The evolving relationship between the Atlanta Falcons and Georgia Bulldogs appears to be mutually beneficial. For the Falcons, it enhances scouting and local recruiting connections. For Georgia, it offers invaluable exposure to the professional level.

If this collaboration continues to grow, it could become one of the most impactful in-state partnerships in football, bridging the gap between college dominance and NFL success.
