Carson Beck’s Sister Tears Up As She Highlights Miami QB’s Courage During Georgia Hardships

Miami Hurricanes quarterback Carson Beck has returned from a major elbow injury he sustained at Georgia, and his sister is his biggest cheerleader.

Miami Hurricanes quarterback Carson Beck knows a thing or two about adversity. He was the Georgia Bulldogs starting quarterback in 2024 until he injured his ulnar collateral ligament in his throwing elbow during the SEC Championship Game against Texas.

Beck underwent surgery to repair the ligament and transferred to Miami in the offseason while undergoing grueling rehab on his arm. The injury was traumatic and threatened his football career, but he persevered and worked his way back into playing shape. Now, he’s got the Hurricanes in the hunt for the College Football Playoff.

Carson Beck’s Biggest Cheerleader is His Sister, Kylie

In an Instagram story she posted on Sunday, she praised her brother’s comeback from his injury, referencing a feature ESPN’s College GameDay produced about him.

“Now this is charisma, this is strength, this is passion, this is a fighter, this is resiliency, this is courage, this is never giving up… this is God,” Kylie posted. “Tears. Proof that you NEVER ever know what someone is going through behind the scenes. People are so quick to judge and so slow to be empathetic.”

For his part, Carson told ESPN he was afraid he knew when he was hurt that things were bad.

“I knew I was done,” Carson said about his injury. “That’s why I didn’t get up immediately. I walk into the locker room, I went to grip a football, and I couldn’t even grip a football, and I didn’t know the severity of the injury yet, but I was obviously, and the following day, finding that out was really, really tough for me.”

Carson went on to tell ESPN that he didn’t know if he could play football the same way again.

“It kinda just was very overwhelming for me. Just kind of looking back at the eight months that I’ve just been through,” Carson said. “I didn’t know if I was ever going to be able to throw a football the way that I did before again. They always say you’re one play away, and you don’t believe it until it’s you.”

However, things have worked out very well for Carson in 2025. The new-No.2 Hurricanes are 4-0 with wins against Notre Dame, which was ranked sixth, and USF, which was ranked 18th.

For his part, Beck has 82 of 112 passes for 972 yards with seven touchdowns against three interceptions for a 161.4 passer rating.

Miami’s next game is against Florida State on October 4 at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida. Also upcoming on the ‘Canes schedule are dates against Louisville and Stanford, a trip to SMU, a homestand against Syracuse and NC State, and a two-week road trip against Virginia Tech and Pittsburgh to close the regular season.
