What does BTA stand for? Everything you need to know about the phrase and its connection to Ole Miss after the cryptic message from Lane Kiffin.

Ahead of their game with Florida, Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin posted a photo with no caption. In this photo, there was a hat that was headlined with the title ”Lane Kiffin,2026, BTA.” which many have taken to suggest as meaning Belt to Ass.

However, following this cryptic message, many fans have questioned what the phrase Belt to Ass means, especially in the context of Ole Miss ahead of their clash with Florida today.

What Does BTA Stand For? Explaining the Phrase Sweeping College Football.

Following Kiffin’s cryptic announcement, fans have begun debating the potential meaning. However, one attentive fan pointed out the apparent “Belt to Ass.” symbol may have a connection to Ole Miss Running Back Kewan Lacy’s celebration.

“It means ‘belt to ass,’ TD celebration started by the incredible Kewan Lacy,” one fan suggested in reference to Ole Miss Running Back Kewan Lacy. While the meaning has not been determined yet, many have interpreted it to mean Kiffin’s staying at Ole Miss.

During a recent game this month against the South Carolina Gamecocks, Ole Miss fans, mainly in the student section, celebrated the 30-14 win by clapping their hands together to create a snapping sound, in celebration of Lacy’s performance, which included rushing for over 100 yards.

“You’ve got a lot of stuff going on. I did see it later on. I didn’t even really understand because I didn’t see it during the game, and then Kewan went to hand me a belt when we were walking off,” Kiffin expressed his confusion at the celebration.

Lacy was a four-star prospect and a Top 200 recruit in the 2024 class. After initially signing with Missouri, the Rebels picked him up in the Transfer Portal. According to PFSN’s College Football RB impact rankings, Lacy is the 7th best Running Back in the nation with an 86.6 impact score.

“He’s really mature, prepares really well, elite speed. The full package… showing a lot of toughness. Pass protection as well. Didn’t know for sure in high school. We’re really pleased,” Kiffin stated when talking about the Running Back.

In recent years, Kiffin has turned Ole Miss into one of the best teams in the SEC. The Rebels had their highest ranking in the College Football Playoff since they were fourth in the initial release in 2014.

According to PFSN’s College Football Playoff Meter, they have a 94.065 chance of reaching the playoffs. However, after a loss to Georgia, they are almost guaranteed out of the race for the SEC.

Ahead of their 2025 playoff charge, the belt to ass celebration has become one of the driving forces behind the team’s mentality. With one of the most explosive offenses in College football, they do not hold back against teams.
