The Dallas Cowboys have gotten off to a slow start this season, with a 2-3-1 record through six games. The biggest issue for the Cowboys is their defense, which is one of the worst units in the league and has failed the team consistently this season.
The only chance the Cowboys have of winning is to outscore the opponent, but even that has been difficult for an offense that leads the NFL in yards per game. The Cowboys lost All-Pro wide receiver CeeDee Lamb to an ankle injury in Week 3, but he is closing in on his return to the field.
CeeDee Lamb Could Play Week 7
Lamb has missed the past three games, and while the Cowboys’ offense has continued to produce at a high level, they are 1-1-1 in those games. Adding Lamb back to the best offense in football will only make them tougher to defend.
According to Jon Machota, Cowboys VP Stephen Jones said Lamb “has a chance” to play Sunday against the Washington Commanders. This is the first time over the last few weeks that Lamb could even play. His ankle has progressed well over the previous few weeks, and the Cowboys adding him back would be a huge boost.

Lamb was off to an incredible start this season before the injury. He had 110+ yards in each of his first two games. Without Lamb, George Pickens has picked up the slack, producing elite numbers and an WR Impact Score of 89.2, which is fifth-best in the NFL. Getting both back together will make the Cowboys’ passing offense almost unguardable.
Cowboys Entering Danger Zone
Coming off a loss to the Carolina Panthers, the Cowboys are entering must-win territory in Week 7 against the Commanders. It is a division opponent and a chance for the Cowboys to get back to .500 on the season.
You can bet the offense will continue to play at a high level against Washington. Dallas is averaging 29.7 points per game and 390.5 yards of total offense, along with an 89.7 Offense Impact Score, which ranks third in the NFL.
This offense has been running smoothly thanks to quarterback Dak Prescott, who is playing like one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL. He is spreading the ball around to all the Cowboys’ weapons and is showing what he can do when healthy. Even though there is still a lot of season to play, it looks like Prescott and company will have to score 30+ points every game to have a chance to win.
