After the New Orleans Saints failed to re-sign franchise cornerstone Cameron Jordan, the veteran pass rusher may be on the move for the first time in his 15-year career.
The Kansas City Chiefs have emerged as a potential landing spot, and he only added fuel to the fire with a recent social media message.
Cameron Jordan Sparks Speculation After Travis Kelce’s Announcement
On Monday afternoon, national insider Ian Rapoport announced that “Chiefs Pro Bowl TE Travis Kelce has signed his contract, officially locking him in for 2026.”
He added the contract is a “3-year, $54.735M deal that can be worth up to $57.735M ($18.245M average). Year 1 is $12M plus 3M in incentives.”
Shortly after, Jordan, a free agent, quote-tweeted the announcement, adding his thoughts on the extension. He wrote: “Ohhh Yahhhh Trav!!!”

Immediately, fans began to speculate on Jordan’s three-word comment, with several going as far as to suggest that he signs with the Chiefs to pair up with Kelce.
Chiefs superstar defensive tackle Chris Jones appeared to be on board as well, simply tweeting, “Cam Jordan…,” back on March 11.
Cameron Jordan’s Career Accomplishments and NFL Future
Across his 15-year NFL career with the Saints, Jordan has recorded 132.0 sacks, 175 tackles for loss, 17 forced fumbles, and 12 fumbles recovered. The 36-year-old has also earned eight Pro Bowl selections and three All-Pro honors.
Despite his age, he was still very impressive this last season. Jordan recorded 10.5 sacks, 15 total TFLs, and 15 QB hits. Notably, he posted a 71.1 EDGE Impact Score, according to PFSN’s metrics.
Jordan, heading into his age-37 season and as accomplished as anyone on the stat sheet, could likely sign with a contending team. As PFSN’s Garima Verma stated, “Kansas City offers the clearest path to February football.”
The Chiefs struggled last season, finishing 6-11 and missing the playoffs for the first time since 2014. A major reason was a significant lack of pass-rush production from their top talent.

Jones finished the season with 7.0 sacks, followed by George Karlaftis with 6.0, while Charles Omenihu recorded the third-most at 3.5. Jordan would step in and immediately ease the pressure on both Jones and Karlaftis while continuing to disrupt the quarterback and defend against the run.
With Patrick Mahomes recovering from injury, Kelce back in the building, and the possible addition of Jordan to their defense, the Kansas City Chiefs will once again be a team to watch in the AFC as they aim to return to contention and bring Jordan his first Vince Lombardi Trophy.
