The Denver Broncos are one of, if not the best, teams in the NFL this season. The team finished the regular season with a 14-3 record, beat the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round, and is now playing the New England Patriots in the Conference Championships.
Despite being one of the best teams in the league, there is still a lot the Broncos can do to get better, which is why they’re predicted to sign one of the best wide receivers in the upcoming free agent class.
Denver Broncos Predicted to Sign Wide Receiver to Help Bo Nix
In PFSN’s Ryan Guthrie’s 2026 NFL free agent predictions, he predicts that the Broncos will sign former Indianapolis Colts receiver Alec Pierce, giving yet another weapon to young quarterback Bo Nix. As for why he expects the Broncos to sign Pierce, Guthrie says the following:
“Bo Nix needs another outside weapon. Pierce provides exactly that. Alec Pierce averaged 11.9 yards per target, second-best in the NFL, and pairs well with Courtland Sutton as a vertical and red-zone threat. Denver’s defense is elite; this offense needs one more big-play element.”
The Broncos’ defense is very dominant and typically regarded as the best in the league, but their offense could definitely use some improvement. In PFSN’s NFL Offensive Impact Metric, which focuses on the regular season, the Broncos ranked 15th in the league with an impact score of 75.9 and a letter grade of C.
In 15 games this past season, Pierce caught 47 passes for 1003 receiving yards and six touchdowns. He led the league in yards per reception with 21.3, proving he can be a deep threat that the Broncos need to elevate their offense. In PFSN’s NFL Wide Receiver Impact Metric (WRi), he ranked as the ninth-best wide receiver with an impact score of 84.6 and a letter grade of B. In 64 career games, he’s caught 157 passes for 2934 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns.
Here’s how the rest of the Broncos’ wide receivers ranked in PFSN’s WRi: Courtland Sutton finished as the team’s best receiver with an impact score of 76.6 and a letter grade of C, followed by Troy Franklin with an impact score of 76.2 and a letter grade of C, and then Marvin Mims Jr. with an impact score of 74.2 and a letter grade of C, and finally Pat Bryant with an impact score of 69.5 and a letter grade of D+.
While the Broncos’ offense is serviceable, it’s clear that they could use an upgrade. Pierce offers them a solid deep-ball threat, which should help take much of the pressure off Sutton.
