Eagles Rumors: NFL Insider Reveals the 2 Offensive Coordinator Candidates ‘At the Top of Their List’

An NFL insider reveals the two offensive coordinator candidates sitting at the top of the Eagles’ wishlist this offseason.

Goodbye, Kevin Patullo. The Philadelphia Eagles’ offense looked nothing like its usual self in 2025. Looking to build off of a dominant performance in Super Bowl 59, the offense couldn’t produce in their attempted title defense. After their disappointing first-round exit, Patullo lost his role as the offensive coordinator.

Now, the Eagles have to replace him, and here are two potential candidates that the Eagles have interest in.

NFL Insider Releases Two OC Candidates for Philadelphia

The Eagles are looking for answers to get their offense back on track. It looked tense between players and coaches, stagnant at times, and simply not good enough. Patullo’s offense ranked 16th in PFSN’s Offense Impact score with a grade of 74.6. With the Eagles’ offensive talent, Philadelphia needs better.

NFL insider Dianni Russini highlighted former Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel and former Giants HC Brian Daboll as two candidates that the Eagles have high on their list.

Daboll and McDaniel are regarded as two of the great offensive minds across the NFL. It’s what landed them their head coaching jobs after successful stints as offensive coordinators with the Bills and 49ers, respectively.

McDaniel operated one of the most electric offenses in 2023, finishing second in PFSN’s Offense Impact score. Tyreek Hill had the best season of his career under McDaniel’s offense. That says something considering Hill played under Andy Reid and with Patrick Mahomes. Imagining what McDaniel can do with Saquon Barkley, A.J. Brown, and DeVonta Smith should give opposing teams nightmares.

Daboll earned his stripes with the Bills and was part of the staff that helped Josh Allen blossom into the NFL MVP he has become. Allen finished as the third-best QB in PFSN’s QB Impact score in 2021 under Daboll’s offense, and the overall offense ranked 8th. Although he didn’t finish the season, rookie Jaxson Dart looked the part in the few games they shared together in New York before Daboll was fired.

If the Eagles can land one of these two candidates, teams won’t be too excited to have to face this offense. Daboll will carry a chip on his shoulder when playing his old team twice each year and won’t harbor any remorse as he tries to dismantle the team that sent him back to unemployment.

The Eagles aren’t losing talent. An upgrade at offensive coordinator and some better play from the offensive weapons should have this Eagles offense among the top units in the NFL.

This team still had a chance to take down the 49ers and make a run despite their offensive struggles. A few changes will put this team back in contention for the Super Bowl by 2026.
