Brandon Aiyuk has spent the better part of this offseason trying to force his way out of the San Francisco 49ers, but the team has refused to let him go. The 28-year-old receiver has posted a series of Instagram videos over the past month while openly pushing for his move to the Washington Commanders.
Now Aiyuk has taken his campaign to YouTube, dropping a lengthy video that provided his most detailed account yet of why the relationship with the 49ers fell apart. The video included explosive accusations against general manager John Lynch, former agent Ryan Williams, and head coach Kyle Shanahan, and made clear that Aiyuk has no intention of setting foot inside the team’s facility again.
Brandon Aiyuk Calls Out 49ers GM John Lynch
In a previous video, Aiyuk revealed that he terminated his Standard Representation Agreement (SRA) with Williams of Athletes First through the NFLPA in November 2025. The 49ers wideout called out his former agent for starting all the mess that has led to the current situation.
“He is also the agent for the general manager of that team,” Aiyuk said. “And these (expletive) is all weirdos, creepy predators, I would never ever (expletive) with these (expletive). I don’t care how long I have to wait to get to you, my baby [referring to the football with the Commanders logo in his hand]. But if it involves (expletive) with them (expletive) first, I’m waiting.”
Aiyuk also described an incident in which Lynch allegedly showed up at his home unannounced. “General manager gonna pull up to my house,” he added. “A weirdo. Like, bro, don’t pull up to my house uninvited boy. (expletive) ain’t safe. But I knew his (expletive) was going to do it. So, I’m looking at my camera, my front door camera. I see a big old white boy, white man, former NFL safety, and I’m like, ‘Oh, hell no,'”
“I know my wife is about to be back home soon,” Aiyuk continued. “So, I had to call my wife and say, ‘Uh, it’s a big (expletive) white man at the house. I don’t know what he doing over there. He was not invited.’ (expletive) creepy. ‘So if you on your way home, just probably just spin the block a few times because I don’t know what bro on.'”
Aiyuk also took aim at Shanahan in the video, continuing a pattern of frustration with the coaching staff that has simmered since his contract holdout in the summer of 2024.

He remains adamant that he will suit up for the Commanders and has circled the Week 6 Monday Night Football matchup on October 19, when Washington travels to Levi’s Stadium, as his revenge game. Until that separation from San Francisco happens, Aiyuk has said he won’t set foot in the 49ers’ building because he doesn’t want to deal with anyone in the organization.
The problem for Aiyuk is that the 49ers can hold on to him for as long as they want and not release him to prevent his planned move to sign with the Commanders. So, regardless of what he says about the team on social media, his future is not in his hands.

When healthy, Aiyuk is arguably a top-10 receiver in the league. In 2023, his last full season, he earned second-team All-Pro honors after recording 75 receptions for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns in 16 games. According to PFSN’s WR Impact Metric, Aiyuk was the fourth-highest-rated receiver in the league in 2023 with an impact score of 92.7,
A reunion for Aiyuk with his former Arizona State teammate Jayden Daniels in Washington would give the Commanders one of the most talented receiver additions available this offseason. As a result, the NFC East franchise is waiting for the 49ers to make their move.
As training camp approaches in late July, the 49ers will have to decide whether holding on to a player who doesn’t want to be there and is telling the world about it every day is worth more than cutting their losses and moving on.
