Bills Announce Signing of 4-Time Pro Bowler To Bolster Roster for Super Bowl Push

The Buffalo Bills are adding a former Pro Bowler to the practice squad as they prepare to make another deep postseason run.

The Buffalo Bills have been one of the best teams in the NFL this season. The team enters Week 16 with an 11-4 record and still has a chance to win the AFC East. Having quality depth at this point of the season is crucial, though, and the Bills added some on Friday.

Per reports, the team is bringing in a former Pro Bowl defender ahead of their Week 16 matchup with the Cleveland Browns.

Bills Adding Matthew Judon to Practice Squad After Release from Dolphins

Earlier this week, the Miami Dolphins surprisingly announced that they were releasing veteran edge rusher Matt Judon. Judon played in 13 games with the Dolphins this season and collected 19 tackles and one tackle for loss, but failed to record a sack.

Now, NFL insider Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Bills are signing Judon to the practice squad. The veteran was brought in for a visit on Friday, and the team was impressed enough to add him for the stretch run.

The Bills could certainly use some help for the pass rush. The team is currently 17th in the NFL in sacks per game, and nobody on the team has more than five sacks on the season. PFSN’s Defense Impact ranking gives the Bills’ unit a 74.9 grade on the season, which ranks 16th out of 32 teams.

Judon may not be the player he once was, but he’s been a productive player as recently as 2024. During that campaign, Judon was only with the Atlanta Falcons; he collected 41 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and 5.5 sacks.

The veteran has earned four Pro Bowl selections in his career and has had at least eight sacks in four different seasons. In Buffalo, Judon should provide some insurance for Joey Bosa and Greg Rousseau on the edge.

Bills Looking to Get Back to AFC Championship Game

In 2024, the Bills advanced all the way to the AFC Championship Game, where they ultimately fell to the Kansas City Chiefs. Josh Allen has yet to play in a Super Bowl, and the hope is that this is finally the year.

PFSN’s Football Playoff Meter (FPM) gives the Bills a 98.7% chance to make the playoffs and a 31.1% chance to win the AFC East. The Patriots are one game ahead of the Bills for the division lead, and the rivals split the regular season series.

The Bills will take on the Cleveland Browns in Week 16 before ending the regular season with matchups against the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets.
