The Buffalo Bills believed 2025 would be their year. With both Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes missing the playoffs, Buffalo had an opportunity to make it out of the AFC.
However, a disastrous showing against the Denver Broncos ended their season in the Divisional Round. Since then, the team has undergone myriad changes, but for the fans, their need at the wide receiver spot remains the top priority.
Why the Buffalo Bills Still Need Wide Receiver Help in 2026
The Bills ranked third on PFSN’s Offense Impact, but a lot of that boiled down to the prowess of their run game. Between rushing leader James Cook and Josh Allen himself, it was the running game that became their bread and butter.
That was reflected in the statistics as well, with no pass catcher outside of Khalil Shakir totaling more than 719 receiving yards. Going into the postseason with that problem, the loss to the Broncos began a landslide of changes throughout the organization.
After parting ways with longtime head coach Sean McDermott, Buffalo elevated Joe Brady to the role. Moreover, the team gave up a second-round pick to bring in D.J. Moore from the Chicago Bears to be the primary receiving option.
An eight-year veteran, Moore saw his role shrink as head coach Ben Johnson implemented an “everybody-eats” offense. As a result, he posted career lows in receptions and receiving yards, finishing with 682 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns on 50 receptions, ranking at No. 73 on PFSN’s WR Impact.
The Bills have to hope that becoming the clear-cut primary wide receiver alongside Allen can bring Moore back to his peak form. However, from the looks of it, the fans are less optimistic about the situation.
PFSN’s Mock Draft Simulator gives fans a chance to simulate how they see the draft playing out. Analyzing the data has given us some great insight into the fan base’s pulse. In the Bills’ case, the common thread for the team is another wide receiver at No. 26.
Two players are in the top five, accounting for over 30% of the total selections. However, even among those two, KC Concepcion stands out as the leader of the pack with nearly one-fourth of the total selections at 22.2%.
A product of NC State for his first two collegiate seasons, Concepcion shifted to Texas A&M, and his career really took off. Finishing with totals of over 3,000 total yards and 30 touchdowns in three years, he is the sixth-highest-ranked wide receiver prospect in the draft.

And he’s clearly caught the fancy of fans in Buffalo, who have selected him more than twice as many times as the next player on the list, Kayden McDonald. At 10.8%, McDonald is closely followed by Akheem Mesidor at 9.6%, as some fans try to focus on the defensive side of the ball.
However, the interest in bringing in another wide receiver threat for new head coach Joe Brady to work with isn’t limited to Concepcion. An additional 9.3% of the selections have gone to Omar Cooper Jr., as the fans seem to have made their opinion clear.
