Caleb Williams' late-game heroics led the Bears to a massive win over the Packers. Here's how he trolled the NFC North rivals the next day.

Caleb Williams is one of the most polarizing quarterbacks in the NFL today. Love him or hate him, he showed what he’s made of in the Chicago Bears’ thrilling 22-16 overtime win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 16.

Williams’ late-game heroics pushed Chicago one step closer to clinching the NFC North crown, and in his second NFL season, he’s already embracing the storied rivalry.

Caleb Williams Trolls Packers After Bears’ OT Win

Williams’ performance against the Packers wasn’t perfect, but the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft came up big when it mattered most.

Williams finished the game with 250 passing yards, 30 rushing yards, and two passing touchdowns, with a 55.9% completion rate and a 98.9 passer rating, per Pro Football Reference. Those two touchdowns happened in clutch situations, with the first to Jahdae Walker coming with less than 30 seconds in regulation and the second to DJ Moore to win it for the Bears in overtime.

With the victory, Ben Johnson’s squad improved to 11-4 on the season. According to PFSN’s NFL Playoff Predictor, the Bears now have a 98.0% chance of making the playoffs and an 88.4% chance of grabbing the NFC North title.

Just one day after leading Chicago to victory, Williams was spotted doing community work in the Windy City, but the kicker was what the second-year quarterback was wearing.

Green Bay fans are known for wearing cheesehead hats as a symbol of pride for their beloved Packers. Instead of sporting the usual headgear, the clip, posted by The 33rd Team’s Ari Meirov, showed Williams wearing a cheese grater hat.

Williams had his fair share of detractors entering the NFL out of USC, with much of the criticism having nothing to do with his play on the football field. However, he had an up-and-down rookie campaign, finishing with a 69.4 PFSN QB Impact grade, which ranked 31st among 39 qualified NFL quarterbacks last season.

Through 15 games, Williams has posted a 74.8 QB Impact grade in 2025. That places him 21st among 44 qualified quarterbacks. While it hasn’t been a massive leap like last year’s third overall pick, Drake Maye, there’s a noticeable difference in his play in just one season under Johnson.

With poise and swagger in big moments like the late moments against the Packers, Williams appears to be winning over the Chicago fan base. Beating Green Bay simply means more for the Bears, given the longstanding rivalry. The two NFC North teams have met 212 times, with the Packers leading the all-time series, 109-97-6.

The Bears have not won a division title since the 2018-19 season, and they’ve finished either third or fourth in each of the last four seasons. Chicago is on pace to claim the NFC North crown this season, with its eyes on more.

For the Bears to make a deep playoff run, they will need Williams to continue to rise to the occasion in crucial moments.
