On Sunday, in quarterback Lamar Jackson’s second-straight missed game, the Baltimore Ravens fell in Baltimore to the visiting Los Angeles Rams, 17-3. Cooper Rush, the backup in Jackson’s absence, went 11-of-19 for 72 yards and an interception, leading him to be benched for Tyler Huntley.
Now sitting at 1-5, the Ravens, who many predicted as the Super Bowl champion, are on the outside looking in. But it’s not all bad news in Charm City. Following the defeat, HC John Harbaugh provided a crucial update on the star quarterback’s status following the Week 7 bye.
Ravens HC Harbaugh Provides Media with Lamar Jackson Injury Update

With Baltimore off next week, the team will turn its eyes towards a Week 8 date with the Bears in Chicago. Jackson, injured in the Week 4 game against the Chiefs in Kansas City, struggled through his first four games.
So far in 2025, Jackson has completed 68 passes for 869 yards, 10 touchdowns, and only one interception. As a rusher, he has scrambled 21 times for 166 yards and another score.
While running back Derrick Henry dealt with problems of his own — the back has had a problem fumbling during crucial moments this year — Jackson has had to make his usual magic when his rag-tag group of receivers weren’t open. This season, Jackson has recorded a QB Impact Score of 86.6 (B) through four games.
In his absence, Rush hasn’t looked great. While he was benched Sunday, in total, he completed 25 of his 39 attempts for 251 yards for no scores and a tough four picks.
Beginning the season with a brutal “choke” in Sunday Night Football Week 1 to Buffalo, Baltimore rebounded with a win over the Cleveland Browns. Then, the team lost two straight to Detroit and Kansas City for an unheard-of 1-3 start. Since Jackson has been sidelined, the team has lost two more, dropping them to 1-5.

If Jackson returns from his hamstring injury in his usual magician form, the Ravens could still salvage their season. While they are 0-1 in AFC North play, after the bye and the matchup with Chicago, the team takes a three-week road trip to Miami, Minnesota, and Cleveland.
The team also has both of its home and away games against Cincinnati and Pittsburgh remaining, as well as games against the Jets, the Patriots, and the Packers. While the Buffalo Bills are currently in the driver’s seat of the AFC’s No. 1 seed, an early slip-up to New England and a tough Monday night Week 6 game in Atlanta remain.
Jackson’s next primetime game will be against the Dolphins in Week 9. Baltimore will travel to Miami for Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime Video.
