Baker Mayfield’s Wife Emily Shares Sweet Reflection on Baby Kova’s Growth

Baker and Emily Mayfield have been together since 2017 and tied the knot with an extravagant wedding in 2019. The couple had kept their pregnancy under wraps before delighting fans with a heartwarming announcement in December 2023, and eventually welcomed their daughter in April last year.

The baby girl has quickly become the couple’s pride and joy and, some might say, a lucky charm for Mayfield’s NFL career. Now, Emily has shared a heartfelt message about their little girl, reflecting on just how quickly she’s growing.

“No one warned me how fast they start changing in like 15 months…,” she wrote.

Her words resonated with many parents who know just how quickly the early months seem to fly by. Emily often shares updates about her daughter with fans and loves watching Kova learn and discover new things.

Meanwhile, Baker seems to have channeled that joy and inspiration into his play on the field. He has continued to impress this season and is off to a strong start, leading the Buccaneers to a 3-1 record heading into Week 5. The Bucs offense ranks 22nd in PFSN’s Offensive Impact metric, while Mayfield is ranked 21st in the QB Impact metric.

Mayfield threw his first interception of the season in Week 4. However, he completed just 55.0% of his passes in the Buccaneers’ narrow loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4.

With an 8-1 TD-INT ratio over 904 passing yards, Mayfield has played pretty smart football this year. He also has the second-highest EPA per dropback under pressure in the NFL at 0.1. However, it is worth noting that the 30-year-old has had two games with sub-60% completion rates, which need to be improved if he is to return to the top ten in QBi grading.

Overall, Mayfield’s 2025 campaign has been a reminder of his resilience and growth as a quarterback. While there are still areas to sharpen, his decision-making and ability to deliver in key moments have kept the Buccaneers competitive early in the season. If he can maintain his efficiency and clean up the accuracy issues, Tampa Bay has every reason to believe this could be another playoff-caliber year with Mayfield leading the charge.
