The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield has been leading his team at the top of the NFC South this season. The 30-year-old had earlier announced that his wife Emily is expecting a baby, and recently, he left everyone laughing with the funny reaction he shared about the news.
How Baker Mayfield Hilariously Anticipates the Chaotic Things His Son Will Bring
Not only his team, but Mayfield has also been doing quite well this season, currently ranking number 22 in PFSN’s QB Impact. The team suffered a 44-32 loss against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, but on Tuesday, their team leader lifted everyone’s spirits by announcing he and Emily are expecting their second child. The news has sparked a wave of happiness all over social media.
The couple married in 2019, and the famous duo welcomed their adorable daughter Kova Jade last year in April. On Tuesday, Baker and his wife shared several pictures on Instagram from their pregnancy reveal photoshoot to announce that their family is about to grow again.
The photos included the whole family, Baker, Emily, their daughter, and even their cute little dog. They revealed the gender of the baby with a picture of a cake with blue icing.
“New addition coming April 2026, and we couldn’t feel luckier 💙,” they wrote.
Mayfield has often talked about how special it felt to become a dad last year when he welcomed his little princess. But this time, he knows handling a boy might bring some extra chaos. Remembering how wild he was as a kid, the Buccaneers star QB delivered a hilarious reaction when asked about expecting a baby boy.
He shared that his parents didn’t want him to play football, but he still went ahead and did it. And he shares that when it comes to his own son, he’ll let him do whatever he wants once he’s old enough. Admitting how challenging handling kids (especially boys) can be, Mayfield cracked a joke about what he’s preparing for.
“If he wanna play football, he can do whatever he wants. My parents didn’t want me to play football… Obviously, I’ll try to handle him the best way, but yeah, I’m going to have a little s**thead on my hands,” Mayfield said.

It’s a huge moment for the family, but after the celebration, the star QB will now be focusing on making sure the Buccaneers continue to stay in the dominating list and secure a playoff ticket by stacking wins in the coming weeks.
They are scheduled to face their next opponent, the Los Angeles Rams, on Monday, Nov. 24, who are coming with even more impressive numbers, winning eight out of the 10 games they’ve played so far.
