Latest News and Injury Updates Impacting Fantasy

Saquon Barkley, RB, New York Giants

Analysis last updated at 6:0p p.m. ET on Sunday, Oct. 15.

Update: According to Adam Schefter, the Giants are optimistic that Barkley plays. He seems to be trending toward playing, but Schefter’s source stopped short of saying the Giants expect Barkley to play.

Second Update: According to Jordan Schultz, Barkley is expected to play tonight.

We haven’t seen Saquon Barkley on a football field since Week 2. Despite being week-to-week, Barkley has missed three straight games with a high ankle sprain. It is typically a 4-6 week injury. This Sunday will mark the passing of four weeks since Barkley initially sprained it.

MORE: PFN Consensus Rankings

Barkley has been progressing. After not practicing at all the week following the injury, Barkley has been limited at every Giants practice the past two weeks. He has not yet been able to get in a full practice, though.

The limited sessions are certainly encouraging, but fantasy managers would feel much more confident about Barkley playing if he were able to practice in full. The fact that it hasn’t happened yet is concerning.

I do think Barkley is healthy enough to gut it out if he and the team wanted to. However, I also believe the Giants are keenly aware of the direction in which their season is headed.

Could Barkley physically play at less than 100 percent on Sunday night? Probably. Is it worth it to send him out there with Tyrod Taylor as two-touchdown underdogs against one of the best defenses in football? Probably not.

ESPN’s Jordan Raanan is not so sure Barkley will return on Sunday night. Take a moment to listen to Barkley’s comments about his ankle.

This does not sound like a man who is quite ready to return to action.

It’s a tough spot for fantasy managers, as the Giants play Sunday night. For about 90 percent of you, your Barkley replacement is going to be playing earlier in the day. That forces you to make a call on Barkley before we know if he’s playing.

MORE: Fantasy News Tracker

In situations like this, it’s always a risk/reward proposition. On the road, as heavy underdogs with a backup QB, the reward of Barkley playing does not seem too great.

Of course, your replacement option matters. If you don’t have a quality alternative, you might as well roll the dice on Barkley. But if you have even a viable RB3 to start in his place, I would play it safe and sit Barkley this week.

Elijah Mitchell, RB, San Francisco 49ers

Analysis last updated at 11:45 a.m. ET on Sunday, Oct. 15.

Update: Elijah Mitchell is active.

We last saw Elijah Michell back in Week 3 against the Giants. In a non-competitive game, he saw his largest workload of the season, carrying the ball 11 times for 42 yards.

Since then, Mitchell has been dealing with a knee injury. It’s nothing new for the oft-injured back, who has dealt with multiple knee injuries during his young career. Mitchell has missed two straight games.

Mitchell’s start to Week 6 opened just as ominously as the previous two. He did not practice. Fortunately, he was able to return to limited sessions on Thursday and Friday, drawing a questionable tag.

Despite three weeks having elapsed, we have no information on what Mitchell’s injury actually is. All we know is it’s a knee injury. That makes it difficult to predict whether he can play.

The good news is the 49ers have a rare 1 p.m. ET game in Cleveland this Sunday. We will know Mitchell’s status in time to make lineup decisions.

The better news is it really doesn’t matter at all for Week 6 lineups. Fantasy managers are not starting Mitchell. The real relevance is knowing who to stash as the likely beneficiary if Christian McCaffrey were to go down.

Mitchell’s absence has given us clarity on the 49ers backfield. It’s McCaffrey-Mitchell-Jordan Mason. If Mitchell does return, that makes Mason expendable for fantasy managers who may have picked him up as a stash. Regardless, no 49er running back other than McCaffrey needs to be anywhere near fantasy lineups.

Should You Start Alvin Kamara or Kendre Miller in Fantasy Football Week 6?

0

The New Orleans Saints are coming off an impressive victory against the New England Patriots, winning 34-0. Anytime you shut a team out in the NFL, it’s a dominant performance. The defense led the way, allowing only 156 total yards of offense. The Saints’ offense didn’t put up huge numbers, but was solid and didn’t turn the ball over.

New Orleans ran the ball 42 times but got only 136 yards. While those aren’t huge numbers, it should have fantasy football managers somewhat excited they are committed to running the ball.

Should fantasy managers stay with Alvin Kamara, or has rookie Kendre Miller shown he should be in lineups?

Looking to make a trade in your fantasy league? Having trouble deciding who to start and who to sit? Setting DFS lineups? Check out PFN’s Free Fantasy Football Trade Analyzer, Start/Sit Optimizer, and DFS Lineup Optimizer to help you make the right decision!

Alvin Kamara’s Fantasy Outlook This Week

If you are a fantasy manager with Kamara on your team, you can’t complain about his touches. He has rushed the ball 33 times for 131 yards while catching 16 passes for 50 yards in two games. If your starting running back is getting 49 touches in fantasy in two weeks, you should be ecstatic.

However, he isn’t putting up the numbers fans have grown accustomed to, and he doesn’t appear to have the explosiveness he once had. In his first game back, he had 13 catches for only 33 yards. It was the fewest yards by anyone catching 13 passes ever, with the next closest being 70 yards.

He is getting the ball, so there are no complaints. For Kamara to show he is a top-10 RB in fantasy, he needs to get back to making some big plays.

Kendre Miller’s Fantasy Outlook This Week

The rookie from TCU missed the first two games but is quietly becoming a focal point of the Saints’ offense. Against the Patriots, he carried the ball 12 times for 37 yards. However, it was his playmaking catching the ball that was more impressive. He caught four passes for 53 yards, including a 33-yard catch.

MORE: Fantasy News Tracker

At 6’0″, 220 pounds, he is a big, physical running back who can wear opposing defenses out. The Saints thought they were going to have that in Jamaal Williams, but he has been out because of injury. With Miller pairing up with Kamara, the Saints should have a solid 1-2 punch capable of helping the team win close games.

Which of the Saints’ RBs Should You Start?

Once again, if you have Kamara on your team, be happy. The guy is being given the ball like no other running back in the league. He was suspended for the first three games, so he is still a little rusty. Because of the volume, he is still the running back to play, but this could still be a tough game for Kamara.

The Texans’ defense has been solid to start the year, ranking 18th in the league in yards allowed (338.6). The Atlanta Falcons are known to run the ball well, but the Texans held them to only 86 yards on 36 carries last week.

Houston gave up 351 yards to Desmond Ridder, and that could mean Kamara could have a big day catching the ball. Look for Kamara to continue to get the ball, but to cap it off with his first touchdown of the year.

Should You Start Kyren Williams or Raheem Mostert in Fantasy Football Week 6?

0

The Miami Dolphins offense has become a wagon of fantasy football production, with big scores from Devon Achane, Tyreek Hill, and Raheem Mostert. But with Achane missing time due to injury, should Mostert be inserted into your lineups? Find out if you should start Mostert or Kyren Williams in fantasy this week!

Raheem Mostert’s Fantasy Outlook This Week

The Dolphins backfield has been a bonanza of fantasy points throughout the year so far with seemingly anyone taking snaps. But with the latest injury to Achane, Mostert now finds himself in potential RB1 overall territory.

Achane has moved to the IR, leaving only Mostert, Salvon Ahmed, and Christopher Brooks. Jeff Wilson Jr. is currently designated to return from IR, but at this time, he has been listed as doubtful to play. Head coach Mike McDaniel said that even if he was activated, he would play no more than 25 snaps against the Carolina Panthers.

MORE: PFN Consensus Rankings

Mostert has had a strong start to the season, scoring 45 fantasy points against the Broncos, and if you take away that performance, he has still averaged 15 fantasy points per game this year, which puts him safely in the low-end RB1 range for this year.

Now, he will likely lead the backfield with unproven assets behind him as the high-powered Dolphins offense prepares to feast against the winless Carolina Panthers. But he could face stiff competition from another rising fantasy star.

Kyren Williams’ Fantasy Outlook This Week

Going into the season with little to no buzz, Williams has smashed expectations for him and the Rams. During the offseason, everyone rushed to grab Cam Akers, but he’s now an afterthought after being traded away to Minnesota.

Akers became expendable when the team gave most of its opportunities to the second-year running back from Notre Dame. Williams has become a fantasy star, scoring 17 fantasy points or more in three of five games this season.

Williams has shown incredible toughness and durability to remain healthy in this early-season stretch. He has played in at least 74% of the offensive snaps in every game this year, and in two games, he totaled more than 98% of the team’s offensive snaps. Sean McVay and this coaching staff trust Williams in any setting or situation.

Which of the Running Backs Should You Start?

Both Williams and Mostert project to finish as top-20 running backs this week. Mostert faces the Panthers run defense, which has allowed an average of 140 rushing yards per game. Williams gets divisional foe Arizona, who has faired slightly better, allowing 124 yards per game on the ground.

Mostert has the better matchup; he’s on the better offense, and with the recent loss of Achane, he should receive most of the backfield work. Look for Mostert to finish as a top-10 running back in fantasy this week!

Fantasy Football Sleepers Week 6: Targets Include K.J. Osborn, D’Onta Foreman, and Others

0

We are already in Week 6, and if you have a losing record, it might be time to mix it up. If you’re a fantasy football manager who needs to add a spark to your lineup, why not take a flier on a player who could have a potential big game? Here are some sleepers to keep your eye on this week.

K.J. Osborn, WR, Minnesota Vikings

With the injury to Justin Jefferson, Osborn’s role increases in the Vikings offense. However, not only could his role increase, but he could be in store for a monster Week 6.

MORE: Fantasy News Tracker

The Vikings, even without Jefferson, are still going to be a team that is looking to throw the ball. Quarterback Kirk Cousins is still third in the league in passing (1,498 yards), and the Vikings are going to continue to play their style of offense. On paper, this is a big mismatch, as the Bears have been horrible against the pass, ranking 31st with 286 yards allowed.

In the regular-season finale last season, Osborn had five catches for 117 yards against the Bears. This has the makings of a high-scoring game, and Osborn could easily put up similar numbers to last year while also scoring a touchdown.

D’Onta Foreman, RB, Chicago Bears

Foreman enters Week 6 in a weird situation but with a huge opportunity as well. The Bears top two running backs, Khalil Herbert and Roschon Johnson, are both out due to injury. Foreman has played in two games this year and had five carries for 16 yards against the Green Bay Packers in the opener.

However, just last season, Foreman showed he can still be a valuable running back in the NFL. He rushed for 914 yards and five touchdowns last year. He also had multiple big games, as he rushed for at least 113 yards five times. In his biggest game, he had 165 rushing yards and a touchdown against the Detroit Lions.

Minnesota has been pretty solid against the run this year, but with such an emphasis on Justin Fields, Foreman could be in store for a big day. Look for Foreman to get a touchdown and potentially get his first 100-yard game of the 2023 campaign.

Bryce Young, QB, Carolina Panthers

Young and the Panthers have had a tough start to the 2023 season, as the team is the only one in the NFL without a win. However, there were some positive signs for Young last week.

He had his best game of the season against the Lions, as he threw for 247 yards and three touchdowns. He did throw two interceptions, but overall, it was his best game.

MORE: PFN Consensus Rankings

The Miami Dolphins have given up the fifth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. A big reason for that is because the offense of the Dolphins is getting up early, so opponents have to pass the ball a lot. For fantasy managers, that is not a bad thing at all.

The Panthers could easily lose this game by 20+ points, and Young could also have another strong fantasy game in the loss.

Rhamondre Stevenson, RB, New England Patriots

Staying as far away from any Patriots offensive player makes a lot of sense. The Patriots have been outscored 72-3 in the last two weeks and have little to be optimistic about.

However, those two games were against New Orleans and Dallas. Both of those teams are very good on the defensive side of the ball. New England’s opponent on Sunday, the Las Vegas Raiders, doesn’t have a defense that is as good as either of those two. The Raiders defense gives up 129.4 yards on the ground, which ranks 23rd in the league.

Stevenson had a monster game in this matchup last year, as he carried the ball 19 times for 172 yards and one touchdown. He is still a capable player out of the backfield catching the ball, and the Patriots have to run the ball in this game to get the win.

When you look at sleepers, you look for players who can have big weeks. Stevenson could easily top 100 total yards, and a touchdown could put him as a fringe top-10 RB this weekend.

Should You Start Keaontay Ingram, Emari Demercado, or Tony Jones in Fantasy Football Week 6?

0

The Arizona Cardinals have lost a crucial part of their offense for at least four weeks, with RB James Connor heading to IR with a knee injury. With Connor gone, there is a plethora of carries to be had — after five games, Connor averaged 72% of the total rushing attempts by all running backs. It was all Connor, all the time in Arizona.

With Connor out, someone will have to carry the ball. So, should you start Keaontay Ingram, Emari Demercado, or Tony Jones in your fantasy football running back slot this week?

Looking to make a trade in your fantasy league? Having trouble deciding who to start and who to sit? Setting DFS lineups? Check out PFN’s Free Fantasy Football Trade Analyzer, Start/Sit Optimizer, and DFS Lineup Optimizer to help you make the right decision.

Editor’s Note: Tony Jones Jr. is inactive for Week 6. Keaontay Ingram and Emari Demercado are both active.

Keaontay Ingram’s Fantasy Outlook This Week

Ingram has missed the last two games due to a neck injury, but he is slated to return this week against the Los Angeles Rams and is currently listed as the RB1. He has been limited in practice all week, but he should be available to play on Sunday.

MORE: Fantasy News Tracker

In his three games this season, Ingram has yet to rush for more than 13 yards, so it is scary to start him with little past success and coming back from an injury. Ingram is RB63 in PFN’s Consensus Rankings.

Emari Demercado’s Fantasy Outlook This Week

Once Connor left the game on Sunday, undrafted rookie Demercado played every snap, and he finished the game with 45 yards on the ground, 12 yards through the air, and one TD. He is currently listed behind Ingram on the depth chart, but we all know that that means very little in a world where coaches often stick with the hot hand.

With the designation on the depth chart, we may see Ingram handle the early downs and Demercado handle the passing work. He is RB28 in PFN’s Consensus Rankings this week.

Tony Jones’ Fantasy Outlook This Week

As soon as the news of Connor’s injury came to light, the Cardinals acted quickly and claimed Tony Jones Jr. off of waivers. Jones spent the first four weeks of the season with the New Orleans Saints, and in his best week, he finished with 34 yards on the ground and two TDs. He was RB16 that week.

MORE: Week 6 Fantasy Cheat Sheet

Jones has never really been more than a RB2/3 in his career – never finishing better than RB100 in his three years in the league.

Which of the RBs Should You Start?

The Rams have allowed the tenth-fewest points-per-game to opposing RBs, so starting a Cardinals RB is scary this week. If you must start one, Demercado is your guy. With Jones still relatively new in Arizona, there is no guarantee he is entirely up to speed with the offense yet, and Ingram hasn’t demonstrated he has the talent to lead an NFL backfield.

Fantasy Injury Update: Tank Dell and Robert Woods Impacting Rankings

0

It’s always a challenge to navigate through injuries in fantasy football, and the WR position is not immune from players getting hurt. The time to set Week 6 lineups is upon us. What is the latest injury information on Houston Texans WRs Tank Dell and Robert Woods?

Looking to make a trade in your fantasy league? Having trouble deciding who to start and who to sit? Setting DFS lineups? Check out PFN’s Free Fantasy Football Trade Analyzer, Start/Sit Optimizer, and DFS Lineup Optimizer to help you make the right decision!

Latest News and Injury Updates Impacting Fantasy

Tank Dell, WR, Houston Texans

Analysis last updated at 11:40 a.m. ET on Sunday, Oct. 15.

Update: Unsurprisingly, according to Adam Schefter, Dell is not expected to play.

Second Update: Dell is inactive.

Last week, Tank Dell landed hard on his head after a reception. He was immediately sent to the blue tent to get evaluated for a concussion. Shortly thereafter, he entered the concussion protocol.

Since the Tua Tagovailoa incidents of 2022, we have not seen a single offensive skill-position player sustain a concussion and return seven days later. The only player to not miss a game was Green Bay Packers TE Luke Musgrave, and that was because the Packers played on Thursday night, giving him three extra days to recover.

Most players who suffer a concussion are unable to practice at all the following week. Dell was able to get in a limited session on Friday. While that technically gives him a chance to get cleared on Saturday, it’s not going to happen.

Players in the concussion protocol almost always need to get in a full practice before they can be cleared by the independent neurologist. Dell being unable to do so makes it nearly impossible for him to play on Sunday.

Dell’s limited session on Friday bodes well for his Week 7 availability. But fantasy managers should fully prepare to be without the rookie for this week.

Robert Woods, WR, Houston Texans

Analysis last updated at 11:45 a.m. ET on Sunday, Oct. 15.

Update: In the same tweet linked in the Dell update, Adam Schefter also reported that Woods is expected to play.

Update: Woods is inactive.

Dell had overtaken Robert Woods as the WR2 for the Texans behind Nico Collins. His absence will open the door for Woods to return to the WR2 role he had in Week 1. That is, of course, if Woods himself can play.

Woods suffered a rib injury last week. The injury rendered him unable to practice on Wednesday. However, Woods was able to practice in a limited fashion on Thursday and then was upgraded to full on Friday.

Although the Texans still opted to list Woods as questionable, it is rare for a player to practice fully and not play.

Woods saw nine targets last week, and he now has at least six in every game this season. There isn’t much of a ceiling, but if you need at least 6-8 points, Woods should be a safe bet for a 4-40 type of game. Maybe you get lucky and he finds the end zone.

I certainly wouldn’t recommend going out of your way to start Woods. But if you need to get him in your lineup, he is almost certainly going to play.

Should You Start Bijan Robinson or Tyler Allgeier in Fantasy Football Week 6?

0

The Atlanta Falcons have been one of the pleasant surprises to start the year. They are currently 3-2 on the season and just a half-game back of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for first place in the NFC South. The Falcons have been great at home, as they are currently 3-0 at home.

One reason why the Falcons have been so good is because they are effective running the ball. They have two guys, Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier, who are both capable of producing in a big way.

With that in mind, which Falcons running back should fantasy football managers have in mind?

Looking to make a trade in your fantasy league? Having trouble deciding who to start and who to sit? Setting DFS lineups? Check out PFN’s Free Fantasy Football Trade Analyzer, Start/Sit Optimizer, and DFS Lineup Optimizer to help you make the right decision!

Tyler Allgeier’s Fantasy Outlook This Week

It was expected that with Robinson being drafted No. 8 in the 2023 NFL Draft, Allgeier may not have the same role he did last year. As a rookie, he rushed for 1,035 yards, despite being drafted in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

However, through five games, the carries are even — Allgeier has 62, Robinson has 67. The fact that Allgeier is getting the ball so often is a good sign, but he needs to produce at a higher clip. He has only 191 yards this year, which is just barely over three yards per carry.

Another issue for Allgeier is that he doesn’t make a ton of plays catching the ball, as he has only six catches in five games.

Bijan Robinson’s Fantasy Outlook This Week

It is still early in the year, but Robinson has shown all the talent and potential the Falcons hoped for when they took him last year. Despite having only five more carries than Allgeier, Robinson has 173 more yards. He is a rare combination of size and speed and can make the big play at any time.

MORE: Fantasy News Tracker

For Robinson, where he separates from Allgeier is his ability to make plays in the passing game. He has 21 catches for 146 yards, while also scoring two more touchdowns there.

It might sound a little early to say this, but Robinson might already be a top-five running back in the league. He can be on the field for all three downs and can contribute in every way possible.

Which of the Falcons’ RBs Should You Start?

As someone who has both of these guys on his team, Robinson will play every single week as long as he is healthy. This is a very good matchup too for Robinson, as the Commanders rank 24th against the run (133.6 yards per game).

Robinson is capable of having a top-five fantasy RB day every time he steps on the field. As a runner, he is solid, but his ability in the passing game separates him from nearly every other running back in the NFL.

The Commanders are coming off a horrible game, as they gave up 460 yards of total offense to the Chicago Bears. Justin Fields had a strong game passing, but the Bears also ran the ball 32 times for 178 yards. This could be a huge day for Robinson, and he must be in your lineup.

Should You Start Gus Edwards or Justice Hill in Fantasy Football Week 6?

0

The Baltimore Ravens are coming off an extremely disappointing loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Ravens were in control in the first half, but the offense had a meltdown in the second half and lost 17-10.

The offense turned the ball over three times and only scored 10 points, despite having 335 yards of offense. The only player for the Ravens who scored a touchdown was running back Justice Hill. Which Ravens running back should fantasy football managers consider starting?

Looking to make a trade in your fantasy league? Having trouble deciding who to start and who to sit? Setting DFS lineups? Check out PFN’s Free Fantasy Football Trade Analyzer, Start/Sit Optimizer, and DFS Lineup Optimizer to help you make the right decision!

Justice Hill’s Fantasy Outlook This Week

While it was a bad week for the Ravens’ offense, Hill was the lone guy to get in the end zone. He scored on a 14-yard run in the first quarter and finished with seven carries for 32 yards. He also caught four passes for 13 yards.

Hill is a different back from Gus Edwards, as he is more of a speed guy who the Ravens are looking to get into the open field. However, while he did good things for Baltimore, Hill was also a part of the turnover struggles. He lost a fumble in the game when the Ravens were up 10-0 and driving at midfield.

Gus Edwards’ Fantasy Outlook This Week

While Hill had the touchdown, Edwards got the most carries for the Ravens. He finished that game with 12 carries for 48 yards. His role changed when J.K. Dobbins was lost for the year with an injury. Instead of being the physical complement, he was thrown into action to be a guy the Ravens needed at a larger level.

Edwards has been consistent recently when it comes to usage, as he is averaging 12 carries for 52.3 yards per game. However, what hurts him is his inability to be involved in the passing game. He has only two catches for one yard through the first five games.

Not being able to make plays in the passing game makes it tough to have Edwards in your lineup.

Which of the Ravens’ RBs Should You Start?

The Colts had a big day rushing against Tennessee last week, as running back Zack Moss carried the ball 23 times for 165 yards and one touchdown. One thing the Titans have done under coach Mike Vrabel is owning a stingy D that stops the run. Despite those struggles, the Titans are still one of the best run defenses in the league.

Entering Week 6, the Titans are ninth in rush defense, allowing only 94.6 yards. Going up against this good of a rush defense, there may be more opportunities to catch passes out of the field.

Neither one of these guys is an ideal start this week, but Hill has an opportunity to make some plays in this game.

Week 6 Fantasy Start/Sit: Kyle Yates’ Last-Minute Advice Includes Emari Demercado, Jonathan Taylor, and Others

0

It’s that time of the week again, folks. It’s time to set our fantasy football lineups for Week 6. Don’t forget that we have an early game in London again, which is only going to complicate matters.

Regardless, we do the research here at Pro Football Network so that you can feel confident that you’re going to dominate your fantasy football matchups every single week. With that in mind, here is my last-minute advice for fantasy football managers going into Week 6.

Fantasy Football Week 6 Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em

Should You Start Jonathan Taylor in Week 6?

Are you feeling dangerous in Week 6? You like to live life on the edge? It may be worth starting Jonathan Taylor then up against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Colts did not pay Taylor to sit on the sidelines and watch Moss take the lead in this backfield, so the change will happen eventually.

When it does, Taylor will be a top-15 RB for fantasy. I’m just not so sure it happens here in Week 6, so I’m playing it a bit safer and ranking Taylor outside of the top 20. He’s still the RB I would play in this backfield, but it’s close.

Final Verdict: Start ’em if you’re feeling dangerous.

Should You Start Zack Moss in Week 6?

Zack Moss was dominant in Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans. If we didn’t have Jonathan Taylor coming back into the fold, he’d be in the top 10 of rankings here this week against the Jaguars.

However, he now becomes a boom-or-bust option due to the potential that the Colts feature Taylor as early as this matchup. There’s a ton of reward opportunity for starting Moss this week, but you may be left empty-handed when it’s all said and done.

Moss is a perfect player to plug into our free Start/Sit Optimizer here at Pro Football Network to see what exactly you should do in your league!

Final Verdict: Sit ’em if you have a better option.

Should You Start Emari Demercado in Week 6?

Fantasy managers spent up for Emari Demercado on the waiver wire this past week after he seemed to be in line for the RB1 role in Arizona after James Conner’s injury. Demercado looked solid in relief of the veteran RB last week, but he was the only healthy option available on the roster.

Now, Demercado has to deal with Keaontay Ingram most likely being back for this matchup, and that drastically complicates matters. Additionally, the Arizona Cardinals called up Damien Williams from the practice squad for this matchup to be a veteran presence alongside the two inexperienced RBs.

It wouldn’t be at all surprising to see Williams get the majority of the touches in this backfield for Week 6, but there’s no way of knowing how this is all going to play out. Unfortunately, if you grabbed Demercado on the waiver wire this week, you may have to let him sit on your bench against the Los Angeles Rams.

Final Verdict: Sit ’em

Should You Start Amari Cooper in Week 6?

With the news that Deshaun Watson is not going to suit up again this week for the Cleveland Browns, Amari Cooper becomes an incredibly risky play with P.J. Walker set to play QB.

The last time we saw Walker, the tape was not encouraging during his time in the preseason for the Chicago Bears. He draws a matchup against arguably the most fearsome defensive front in the entire NFL with the San Francisco 49ers.

Cooper is merely a volume play in Week 6, but that may even be in question if Walker is going to struggle to complete passes. He may choose to keep things close to the line of scrimmage instead of sending it out to Cooper and Elijah Moore on the sidelines, which means that Amari is probably best left on fantasy benches here.

Final Verdict: Sit ’em

Should You Start Logan Thomas in Week 6?

Don’t look now, but Logan Thomas is a thing again for fantasy football! Aside from a down Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles, Thomas has been a top-15 TE every other week that he’s played this season. After being a hot waiver wire add this week, Thomas belongs in starting lineups.

Should You Start D’Andre Swift or Kenneth Gainwell in Fantasy Football Week 6?

0

The Philadelphia Eagles have picked up right where they left off last season, as they and the San Francisco 49ers remain the only undefeated teams in the league. Up next for the Eagles is a New York Jets team that has made some strides the past two weeks and is coming off a win against the Denver Broncos.

One of the strengths of Philadelphia is the ability to run the ball. Should fantasy football managers still expect D’Andre Swift to get most of the carries, or could Kenneth Gainwell start to see the ball more?

D’Andre Swift’s Fantasy Outlook This Week

When your number is called upon, you have to be ready, and Swift has been a perfect example of that this year. He has taken command as the featured running back for the Eagles.

He had the big game against the Vikings, but he followed that up with another 130 yards against the Buccaneers. Swift hasn’t put up quite the numbers rushing recently, but he still has 10 catches in the last two weeks.

The Eagles enter the game ranked second with 164.0 rushing yards per game, trailing only the Miami Dolphins. This could be a huge mismatch, as the Jets have struggled to stop the run.

Kenneth Gainwell’s Fantasy Outlook This Week

It was thought heading into the season that this would be a running back by committee, but it just hasn’t worked out that way for Gainwell.

Gainwell missed Week 2, and in theory, lost his job that night. Swift ran for 175 yards and a touchdown in the win against the Minnesota Vikings. After coming back, Gainwell just hasn’t been able to get the ball as much and is used more to spell Swift now.

In his first two games of the season, he carried the ball 14 times in both games. However, in the last two, he has rushed the ball only 11 times. The Eagles’ offense is playing well, and there’s no need to change anything offensively.

Which of the Eagles’ RBs Should You Start?

This is an easy one. Swift is the Eagles’ running back until further notice. He provides the team the ability to make plays both running the ball, as well as catching the ball.

The Jets are currently ranked 29th in the league in rushing yards allowed, allowing 146.2 yards per game. With a talented secondary such as Sauce Gardner and D.J. Reed, New York will be tough to throw the ball against.

Behind that offensive line and with Jalen Hurts, Swift is going to get a ton of opportunities. This is an easy one. Swift has the potential to be a top-10 running back not only this week but for every week for the rest of the season.
