Should You Start Kyren Williams or Raheem Mostert in Fantasy Football Week 6?

With the recent loss of De'Von Achane, the Dolphins will now lean on Raheem Mostert this Sunday. But can he outscore Rams running back Kyren Williams?

The Miami Dolphins offense has become a wagon of fantasy football production, with big scores from Devon Achane, Tyreek Hill, and Raheem Mostert. But with Achane missing time due to injury, should Mostert be inserted into your lineups? Find out if you should start Mostert or Kyren Williams in fantasy this week!

Raheem Mostert’s Fantasy Outlook This Week

The Dolphins backfield has been a bonanza of fantasy points throughout the year so far with seemingly anyone taking snaps. But with the latest injury to Achane, Mostert now finds himself in potential RB1 overall territory.

Achane has moved to the IR, leaving only Mostert, Salvon Ahmed, and Christopher Brooks. Jeff Wilson Jr. is currently designated to return from IR, but at this time, he has been listed as doubtful to play. Head coach Mike McDaniel said that even if he was activated, he would play no more than 25 snaps against the Carolina Panthers.

Mostert has had a strong start to the season, scoring 45 fantasy points against the Broncos, and if you take away that performance, he has still averaged 15 fantasy points per game this year, which puts him safely in the low-end RB1 range for this year.

Now, he will likely lead the backfield with unproven assets behind him as the high-powered Dolphins offense prepares to feast against the winless Carolina Panthers. But he could face stiff competition from another rising fantasy star.

Kyren Williams’ Fantasy Outlook This Week

Going into the season with little to no buzz, Williams has smashed expectations for him and the Rams. During the offseason, everyone rushed to grab Cam Akers, but he’s now an afterthought after being traded away to Minnesota.

Akers became expendable when the team gave most of its opportunities to the second-year running back from Notre Dame. Williams has become a fantasy star, scoring 17 fantasy points or more in three of five games this season.

Williams has shown incredible toughness and durability to remain healthy in this early-season stretch. He has played in at least 74% of the offensive snaps in every game this year, and in two games, he totaled more than 98% of the team’s offensive snaps. Sean McVay and this coaching staff trust Williams in any setting or situation.

Which of the Running Backs Should You Start?

Both Williams and Mostert project to finish as top-20 running backs this week. Mostert faces the Panthers run defense, which has allowed an average of 140 rushing yards per game. Williams gets divisional foe Arizona, who has faired slightly better, allowing 124 yards per game on the ground.

Mostert has the better matchup; he’s on the better offense, and with the recent loss of Achane, he should receive most of the backfield work. Look for Mostert to finish as a top-10 running back in fantasy this week!
