How Dean Blandino Got His Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s Wedding Invitation

During an appearance on “House of Haymaker,” Blandino explained that his frustration with the Eagles’ Tush Push unexpectedly played a role in his connection with Swift.

“I haven’t said this story, told this story to people outside my inner circle, but just people assume that it was Travis that invited me, that the connection through the Chiefs and NFL, but it really wasn’t,” Blandino said.

Instead, the unusual connection started during the 2025 matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs.

“We did a game in Kansas City last year. It was the Eagles and Chiefs, the Super Bowl rematch,” he said. “And we happened to be staying over that Sunday night. Now, Erin Andrews, who I work with, is very close with Travis and Taylor, and they were having a birthday party for Patrick Mahomes at this restaurant.”

Before that gathering, Blandino had openly voiced his frustration with the Eagles’ signature play. Then, at the party, Swift approached him and immediately connected over the controversial play.

“We went; it was kind of a smaller group, and I had, during that game, I had expressed my, for lack of a better term, frustration with the tush push,” Blandino said. “You know, we walk in, we hang out. This person came up to me, gave me a big hug, said that she agreed that the tush push sucks, and it was Taylor Swift. And we just hit it off and became friends. And I got invited to the wedding, and she’s awesome; he’s awesome. It was a great time.”

The game Blandino was referring to was the Eagles’ 20-17 win over the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium, which was controversial, and the Tush Push became a major talking point.

Philadelphia leaned on the short-yardage play for key first downs, while questions followed about possible uncalled false starts.

Afterward, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid and defensive tackle Chris Jones both raised concerns about Philadelphia’s timing. They believed some Eagles players appeared to move before the snap.

“Might’ve had a couple of them that they got off a little early on,” Reid said.

However, Philadelphia never accepted the idea that the Tush Push alone decided the contest.

Head coach Nick Sirianni defended his team’s execution of the play, while left tackle Jordan Mailata strongly rejected claims that the Eagles won because of it. Mailata pointed to Philadelphia’s defensive and special teams’ efforts as major reasons for the victory.

And since then, the controversy surrounding the Tush Push has continued.
