Tight end Dallas Goedert is not going anywhere, Philadelphia Eagles fans. Now, the concern probably turns toward wide receiver A.J. Brown’s future.
While there might have been some concern that the Eagles’ tight end would leave in free agency, that didn’t happen. Brown, though, remains a question mark.
A.J. Brown’s Future With Eagles Remains Uncertain
On Sunday, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported the news that probably puts a lot of smiles on Eagles fans’ faces. What about the Brown situation, though? NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport offered some perspective on that situation, too, in a post on X.
Rapoport wrote, “While this situation has been linked to the AJ Brown saga and a potential trade, the situation remains fluid.”
NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo also had some additional analysis on what the Goedert deal might mean in the big picture regarding Brown’s future with the Eagles.
Garafolo posted on X, “The #Eagles were managing Dallas Goedert and A.J. Brown simultaneously the last week. Brown’s situation remains fluid. No changes on that front. Goedert had other options on the table but pushed his contract void back twice to keep Philly alive for him. Gets it done today.”

Field Yates, fantasy football and NFL Draft analyst for ESPN, also added some details regarding Goedert.
Yates posted on X, “By agreeing to this deal before tomorrow, the Eagles avoid taking on a significant chunk of dead money. Keeping Goedert was most important, but there was a timeliness to this deal that made it different than your average new deal for a player.”
According to the PFSN NFL WR Impact metrics, which are measured through the regular season, Brown had an impact score of 80.9 and graded out to a B-. According to the PFSN NFL TE Impact metrics, Goedert had an impact score of 78.5 and graded out to a C+.
