A.J. Brown has been getting heat for his lack of focus on the team. Some think Brown is all about himself. The Philadelphia Eagles are doing well, in first place in the NFC East with six wins. Still, the silver lining for the Eagles is that Brown’s intensity, while misplaced, comes from the same fire that makes him great.
Emmanuel Acho, former Eagles linebacker and sports analyst, has shared his thoughts on wide receiver Brown. As opinions circulate, Brown needs to stay quiet rather than focus on his own personal stats. Brown needs to be humbled and stop making it about himself. He is a highly respected, talented wide receiver. In Acho’s words, Brown “needs to chill out.”
Is A.J. Brown Obsessed With Himself?
It’s already hard enough to make back-to-back Super Bowls without a player trying to make it about himself. Even Acho says, “Wide receivers are divas.” He thinks the Eagles are a great team, possibly the best team in the NFC. Acho continues his rant and says, “You are making all this noise, but who is it benefiting?” The goal is to get another Super Bowl, not a title to be the best wide receiver.
Especially when the Eagles are winning, it’s time to be quiet and enjoy the ride. Being humble will benefit Brown. Acho summarizes that Brown needs to chill; he’s doing great, and the team is doing great, leave it at that. No need to be loud.
The fanbase turning on A.J. Brown has been interesting to watch, to say the least.

Is it possible that Brown is just used to being the best and wants to remain vocal about it? Being entitled might be right for him; he does have Pro Football Focus naming him the top wide receiver in the NFL. Drafted by the Tennessee Titans in 2019, he was traded to the Eagles in 2022. He has been with the Eagles since.
2022 was his best season with the Eagles, when he had 11 touchdowns and almost 1500 yards, averaging about 17. The following year, he had only seven touchdowns and 1456 yards, averaging 13.7. In 2024, he had 67 receptions for over 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns, averaging over 15.3 yards per catch. Now this season, he has 29 receptions for 395 yards with three touchdowns.
His career totals are 475 receptions, 7421 yards for a total of 52 touchdowns, and an average yards per catch of 15.6. The Eagles’ current ranking is 13th with a C+ according to the PFSN Offense Impact metric. Now with all of those stats, it could breed a selfish player, and that’s what Acho talks about.
Brown, if you want people to stop calling you a diva, it’s time to chill.
