‘Nasty Work’ — Giants’ 2-Time Super Bowl Champion, NFL World React to Abdul Carter Calling Out Jaxson Dart’s Donald Trump Support

Lawrence Tynes called Abdul Carter's public criticism of Jaxson Dart over the QB's Donald Trump rally appearance "nasty work."

Jaxson Dart’s decision to introduce President Donald Trump at a campaign rally in New York on Friday has created a growing divide that now extends well beyond the fanbase.

After second-year edge rusher Abdul Carter publicly questioned Dart on X, writing “Thought this s**t was AI, what we doing man,” the reaction shifted from Dart’s politics to Carter’s approach. Two-time Super Bowl champion Lawrence Tynes took issue with Carter airing out his frustration publicly rather than handling it privately.

Lawrence Tynes Slams Abdul Carter’s Public Criticism of Jaxson Dart

Tynes, who kicked for the Giants from 2007 to 2012 and won two Super Bowl rings with the franchise, didn’t hold back in his response to Carter’s post.

“The locker room is a sacred place because it brings together everyone from all walks of life and beliefs for one common goal,” Tynes wrote on X. “Calling a teammate out publicly for his political views and to get attention is nasty work.”

Tynes wasn’t the only one who reacted to Carter’s post, as many others in the NFL world shared their thoughts after the Giants quarterback was questioned by his teammate about his political stance.

“Giants starting QB just divided his locker room,” Ben Volin said about Carter’s comments on Dart.

“Uh oh, a little division in the Giants locker room over Dart/Trump,” UStadium’s account said on X.

“Jaxson Dart was out here publicly defending Abdul Carter last year when the media was itching for tidbits,” former NFL DT Breiden Fehoko said. “Maybe it’s just different for some guys. I know for me, I won’t let political beliefs get in between the blood, sweat, and tears we’ve shed as teammates.”

During the rally itself, Trump praised Dart at length, calling the quarterback a “beautiful guy” with “legs like tree trunks” and predicting a Hall of Fame career for the Giants star.

In his rookie season, Dart completed 63.7% of his passes for 2,272 yards with 24 total touchdowns. According to PFSN’s QB Impact Metric, he posted an impact score of 76.3, ranking 14th in the league.

While Carter, on the other hand, recorded 43 tackles, four sacks, and 23 quarterback hits. According to PFSN’s EDGE Impact Metric, he posted an impact score of 84.1, ranking 17th in the league. Dart and Carter are the two pillars of whatever the Giants are building, and both need the other to succeed.

With head coach John Harbaugh hoping to establish a new culture ahead of the 2026 season, the Dart-Carter situation has become an unnecessary distraction at the worst possible time for the Giants.

Hopefully, the issues will be resolved soon, as there are high hopes for Dart, Carter, and the entire team as they approach the upcoming NFL season.
