What Happened to Jalen Hurts?

With 3:51 remaining in the third quarter, Hurts was sacked by Rams defensive back Jaylen McCollough. He was also sandwiched by a defensive lineman on the play, leading his left leg to get pinned to the ground.

Hurts stayed in the game but was extremely limited movement-wise on a third-down handoff while limping and favoring his left knee. Afterward, he entered the blue medical tent for further examination.

The Eagles quarterback opened the scoring with a 44-yard rushing touchdown but has been extremely limited in passing the ball in snowy conditions. Hurts had just 109 passing yards on 12-of-19 passing before his injury.

Hurts remained in the game on the following drive after being examined (albeit wearing a brace on his left knee). Although the fifth-year quarterback has largely been productive (his 88.7 QB+ score ranks fourth) this season), he’s coming off a season-worst 71.2 QB+ score in the Eagles’ Wild Card win over the Green Bay Packers.

Shortly after, the Eagles QB took a safety to bring the score to a one-point game, showing some potential limited mobility as he failed to escape the pressure.

Kenny Pickett is the backup quarterback and would play should Hurts be forced out. Pickett suffered his own rib injury in Week 17 starting for Hurts (who was out with a concussion) but has since healed and is active.
