‘Aaron [Donald] Is a Little Crazy’ — Ex-NFL Players Pick Winner in Hypothetical Fight Between Rams Legend, Myles Garrett

With the NFL season just around the corner, many are predicting the Los Angeles Rams will be a team that will contend for a Super Bowl. Alongside a disciplined, potent offense, the organization added key defensive pieces that they hope will bring them success.

Two of them are on the defensive line. In the offseason, Los Angeles pulled off a blockbuster, in which they managed to bring edge rusher Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns. Management also lured future Hall of Famer Aaron Donald out of retirement.

With no more preseason games to prepare for, the excitement of the games also includes waiting for the first NFL kickoff. In that lull, conversations, whether based in reality or hypotheticals, occur.

Former LB Thinks Rams DL Aaron Donald Would Beat Myles Garrett in a Fight

While both Donald and Garrett appear ticketed for Canton one day, they united to bring the Rams another Super Bowl victory. Until then, as they waited for the season to start, a lighthearted conversation surrounding them buzzed around the internet.

Eric Kendricks and Anthony Barr, who each played for multiple teams over their careers, asked a hypothetical question about the Rams’ defenders.

“Who do y’all think would win in a fight? Right now, we clear all these tables out, and we had an arena, Aaron Donald or Myles Garrett?” asked Kendricks, who tallied 1,180 tackles over an 11-year career with the Minnesota Vikings, Los Angeles Chargers, Dallas Cowboys, and San Francisco 49ers.

Barr, who played for the Minnesota Vikings and Dallas Cowboys and made four Pro Bowls in the process, proclaimed Donald the winner for one particular reason: “I think Aaron is a little crazy. He put his helmet on, trying to fight someone on the field one time.”

Kendricks also seemed to agree with him, but he did deny that it wouldn’t be an easy fight.

Barr is referring to a 2018 postgame fight between Donald and Seattle Seahawks offensive lineman Justin Britt. The video shows Donald grabbing his helmet and running out onto the field to confront Britt, who was standing on the sideline. Another altercation saw Donald emulate Garrett’s actions.

In 2022, during a joint practice with the Cincinnati Bengals, the Rams saw one of their best players use a Bengals helmet to bludgeon players.

Years earlier, during a nationally televised game, Garrett connected with a helmet across the head of Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph. He was suspended for the remainder of the 2019 season.

Now, teammates and opponents will need to contend with the duo. The Rams went all-in on the season. Can the Donald/Garrett duo be the catalyst and difference?
