‘His Hands Are Made of Feet’ — 3-Time Super Bowl Champion Slams Jerry Jeudy for Dropping Shedeur Sanders’ Pass

3-Time Super Bowl Champion Mark Schlereth called out Jerry Jeudy after the Browns receiver drops Shedeur Sanders’ pass.

The Cleveland Browns may have expected Jerry Jeudy to establish himself as their WR1, but his uneven training camp has created some early concern.

Right now, Jeudy is working with both Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders as Cleveland’s quarterback battle takes shape. However, Jeudy became the center of attention during a recent practice after he failed to secure an end zone throw from Sanders.

The miss quickly caught Mark Schlereth’s attention, and the three-time Super Bowl champion wasted no time criticizing the veteran receiver.

Mark Schlereth Criticizes Jerry Jeudy for Dropping Shedeur Sanders’ Pass

Reacting to the footage on his official X account, Schlereth wrote, “His hands are made of feet!”

That criticism also brought back some familiar concerns for Jeudy.

Last season, a series of costly drops hurt his involvement as one of Cleveland’s main targets. Now, another high-profile miss has raised questions about whether those problems could follow him into the new campaign.

As the clip spread, former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson and Shannon Sharpe also joined the conversation and took aim at Jeudy’s effort on the play.

“You gotta secure that thing, baby. Secure that thing, baby,” Ochocinco said.

Then Sharpe explained how little the play demanded from Jeudy and questioned why he could not finish the catch.

“Let me show, let me show you what I’m talking about,” Sharpe said. “You ain’t gotta do nothing but catch the football. He ain’t gotta do no toe-tap about.”

Ochocinco agreed with Sharpe’s breakdown, describing Jeudy’s technique as “lazy hands.” And then Sharpe added, “Yeah, too many drops, too many drops.”

The practice clip also caught the Browns fans’ attention. On social media, they questioned whether Jeudy can deliver the consistency Cleveland needs.

Jeudy’s recent mistake becomes more concerning when looking at his production from last season. He recorded 50 catches for 602 yards and two touchdowns across 17 games and ranked No. 76 in the PFN WR Impact Rankings.

This season, securing the top WR role will be difficult for Jeudy as 2026 first-round pick KC Concepcion and second-round selection Denzel Boston are having an impressive training camp.

Concepcion arrives with a strong college résumé after producing 61 receptions, 919 yards, and nine touchdowns for the Texas A&M Aggies in 2025. He posted an 81.5 PFN CFB WR Impact Score.

Boston also brings plenty of production from his final college season. The Washington Huskies product hauled in 62 passes for 881 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2025. Furthermore, PFN’s CFB WRi gave him a 79.5 impact score.

However, back in April, General Manager Andrew Berry made it clear that Jeudy would have every opportunity to prove himself.

“Browns GM Andrew Berry said the drafting of KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston have ‘zero impact’ on WR Jerry Jeudy,” ESPN reporter Daniel Oyefusi shared.

“‘He’s our bell cow. I think with receiver rooms you can have, maybe a ball-dominant player, or you can essentially build a basketball team with different skill sets. We prefer the second approach. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll take Calvin Johnson if he’s out there. But we feel like we have a nice, well-rounded room with speed, RAC, contested catch ability, separation. So, we’re really pleased with the youth and talent in that group.’”

That statement shows Cleveland still views Jeudy as the centerpiece of its receiving group. However, Berry’s confidence could be seriously tested if Jeudy keeps making costly mistakes.
