‘Be A Man’ — NFL Pundit Rips Giants QB Jaxson Dart For Backtracking On Support For President Donald Trump

Rob Parker slams New York Giants’ quarterback Jaxson Dart for backtracking following his Donald Trump rally appearance.

Jaxson Dart’s life has been a whirlwind since he stepped onto the stage to introduce President Donald Trump at a rally in New York last Friday. Hyping the crowd with “Go Big Blue” chants, the Giants’ young quarterback called the moment an “honor and a privilege.” However, the decision instantly triggered strong reactions, including a public rebuke from his teammate, Abdul Carter, who posted his disapproval on social media.

A fresh wave of backlash erupted after he took the podium to justify his appearance as a form of institutional respect for the Presidency rather than a political endorsement. But Dart’s appearance has left the fans and NFL pundits deeply divided over the high-profile merger of sports and politics.

Rob Parker Rips Jaxson Dart Over His Donald Trump Stance

After the Giants’ sixth OTA practice on Friday, Dart appeared in front of the media to address the ongoing controversy.

“I also understand in this world, politics can be a sensitive matter, a sensitive topic,” Dart said. “I also understand that I’m the quarterback of the New York Giants and that involves a lot of responsibility, it’s under a limelight, under a microscope, and there’s a lot that comes with that, and it’s something that I’ve embraced.”

“Most importantly, I can honestly say that I love every single one of my brothers, my teammates on this team, regardless of politics, regardless of religious beliefs, regardless of anything that may be different between us,” Dart added. “They know exactly what kind of person I am that comes into the facility every single day.”

The attempt to smooth things over did not sit well with veteran media personality Rob Parker, who criticized the 23-year-old on the latest segment of “The Odd Couple” on Fox Sports Radio for backtracking rather than taking accountability for his political leanings.

“You’re gonna go there and talk about how important it was… So say it! Stand up and be a man!” Parker said. “Boomer Esiason has the nerve to say that Abdul Carter’s not a man. If Trump’s your guy, stand up and say it!”

“Just like we had a problem with Tom Brady, [when] he had the ‘Make America Great Again’ hat in his locker. Don’t say, I don’t know how it got there,” Parker added. “I would have way more respect for Jaxson Dart if he said that today. Goodness gracious! I don’t understand it. You’re so honored and thrilled to go and see the president, but you can’t say his name now? Man, that’s weak to me.”

The media firestorm is dominating the sports headlines and talk show topics, all due to Dart’s status as the Giants’ offensive cornerstone. Drafted 25th overall by the Giants in 2025, he has proved his skill as a dual-threat on the field and put together a spectacular rookie campaign.

In 14 games, the signal-caller threw for 2,272 yards, 15 touchdowns, and just five interceptions, finishing with a 91.7 passer rating. He also broke Daniel Jones’ franchise record for quarterback rushing touchdowns in a single season (9 TDs).

According to PFSN’s QB Impact Metric, Dart posted an impact score of 76.3 last season, ranking 18th at his position.

With the storm brewing, this will be a test for the young talent to maintain his focus on what’s crucial and continue building a contender-worthy team along with the new head coach, John Harbaugh.
