After back-to-back MVP-caliber seasons, it seemed impossible that a historically great quarterback like Lamar Jackson would regress so mightily in the 2025 NFL season. However, that is exactly how the year played out, with a plethora of injuries severely hampering his productivity throughout the season.
As a result, the Baltimore Ravens ended up missing the playoffs, and it was hard not to put a big share of the blame on their quarterback. Now, as the march to a new season gets underway, the dual-threat superstar is taking it upon himself to build a sensational roster around him, with public recruiting already underway.
Lamar Jackson Seeking Reunion in 2026
After the team went 8-9 and missed the playoffs, Jackson was blamed for many of the struggles. Missing five games, he was a shell of himself for a handful of others as well, leading Baltimore to never go on a run.
Ultimately, it cost them a spot in the postseason, and the organization decided to go through a bit of a makeover, with 18-year veteran head coach John Harbaugh being let go.
However, rather surprisingly, one of the issues they need to fix is the offense. Despite having Jackson and Derrick Henry, they ranked just 20th on PFSN NFL Offense Impact, with the two-time MVP having his worst year since the injury-riddled 2021 campaign, ranking 12th on the PFSN NFL QB Impact.
As a result, some upgrades to the offense seem like a certainty this offseason, and Jackson is getting started early. He made his desire for a reunion public, commenting on a wide receiver who spent three seasons with the Ravens.

Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, after spending the last two seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, which were underwhelming to say the least, posted a story on Instagram alongside his partner, showing them enjoying a round of golf.
Writing, “Valentines special” alongside a purple heart, it was the heart that drew the attention of his former quarterback. Commenting publicly on the story, he wrote, “Purple Heart means Hollywood to the Ravens.”
It immediately became a talking point, particularly given Brown’s contentious exit from the team in 2022. Unsatisfied with the offensive scheme, he demanded a trade, joining the Arizona Cardinals, where he reunited with his college quarterback, Kyler Murray.

But since leaving Baltimore, Brown has failed to make a true difference at any of his new locations, ranking outside the top 40 on PFSN NFL WR Impact metrics. However, the talent is hard to deny, and Jackson has to be hoping that they can find the connection again that led to him recording 1,008 receiving yards in 2021, the highest mark of his career.
