As the Seattle Seahawks prepare for Super Bowl 60 against the New England Patriots, one of the league’s top receivers offered a detailed breakdown of the player he believes has become one of the NFL’s toughest matchups.
The buildup to Sunday’s game has highlighted several key storylines, but few have drawn as much attention as the rise of Seattle’s third-year receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and the respect he has earned from across the league.
What Did CeeDee Lamb Say To Explain What Makes Jaxon Smith-Njigba So Difficult to Defend?
Dallas Cowboys star CeeDee Lamb praised Smith-Njigba during a group interview Saturday during a USAA event (Official NFL Salute to Service Partner), where PFSN was present. Lamb pointed to Smith-Njigba’s versatility, consistency, and ability to win from every alignment as traits that elevate Seattle’s offense and make him a uniquely challenging assignment for opposing defenses.
#ad Honored to send a legend & Purple Heart veteran @USAirForce TSgt. Chris F. to #SBLX with the help of @USAA and @AFA_Air_Space. Grateful to give back to a deserving member of Cowboys Nation who’s given us so much. Catch you in the Bay Area! 💯 #SaluteToService pic.twitter.com/VhoI825kqy

“Jaxon, he’s a player of his own, man. He’s fire. I’ve always watched him since high school. He’s from Dallas, and things of that nature,” Lamb said.
“But as for him, it’s just consistently his ability to win, no matter who’s guarding him,” Lamb added. “He can line up in all three spots at receiver. I feel like that’s always, that’s like, I guess, a cheat code. B
“Because essentially, you can line up here, you can line up in the backfield, you can line up outside. His ability to move around and be able to create space and create plays, and finish at the point of attack. I feel like that’s why he’s one of the biggest reasons that they’re in this game.”
Smith-Njigba enters the Super Bowl with a PFSN WR Impact score of 94.4, the second-highest mark in the league behind only Puka Nacua. That metric reflects not only his production but also his influence on spacing, coverage manipulation, and situational efficiency.
Throughout Seattle’s postseason run, he has provided quarterback Sam Darnold with a reliable outlet in high-leverage moments, often winning early in routes and maintaining leverage through contact to keep the offense on schedule.
Seattle carries a PFSN Offense Impact score of 79.8, ninth in the league, while its defense ranks third with an 88.4 Impact Score. New England counters with a PFSN Defense Impact score of 78.2, placing 12th.
The matchup pits one of the league’s most adaptable young receivers against a Patriots defense that has thrived on forcing opponents into predictable structures.

For Seattle, Smith-Njigba’s ability to align anywhere in the formation has become a foundational element of its game planning. His presence allows the Seahawks to disguise intentions, stress leverage points, and dictate matchups, all of which have been critical in their postseason success.
The Seahawks will look to lean on that flexibility Sunday as they chase the second championship in franchise history, with kickoff set for 6:30 p.m. ET and full coverage airing nationally on NBC.
