A’ja Wilson Makes Feelings Clear on Being Older Than Boyfriend Bam Adebayo: ‘He Calls Me a Cougar!’

In a recent interview, Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson shared her reaction to being older than NBA boyfriend Bam Adebayo.

With multiple accolades and Olympic medals between them, Bam Adebayo and A’ja Wilson are the undisputed basketball power couple. And while fans continue to tune in for their WNBA and NBA performances, they are always interested in the pair’s various anecdotes.

In a recent interview, Wilson was under the spotlight for answering some questions about Adebayo and her life. Of course, the WNBA star had some hilarious stories to share, ultimately going viral on Twitter (now X).

WNBA Star A’ja Wilson Shares Hilarious Take on Being Older Than Boyfriend Bam Adebayo

Before the Miami Heat’s clash against the Boston Celtics, Wilson participated in a quiz that asked her to answer facts about her boyfriend. It was a short, rapid-fire situation in which she also shared her take on being a year older than Adebayo.

“What year was he a McDonald’s All-American?” the interviewer asked.

Wilson, taking a short pause, said, “He’s younger than me. He calls me a cougar.”

She did get the answer wrong on the first try, shocked by how young they were back in high school.

Of course, they asked a bunch of other questions of Wilson, including when he was drafted (2017), what pick he was (No. 14), and how many times he has been an All-Star (three).

She also guessed his AAU team (Team Loaded North Carolina), his college teammates, and his jersey number when he was in Kentucky (No. 3).

Fans seemed to love questions about Adebayo, especially since Wilson got most of them right. Many have been following Adebayo and Wilson for years, even sharing and guessing the answers on their own.

They both were recently seen at the 16th Annual Miami HEAT Charitable Fund Gala, which was held in Las Vegas. And with Wilson being a Las Vegas Aces star (who also won the 2025 WNBA championship), her presence at the event was already expected.

Here’s Why Adebayo Kept His Relationship With Wilson a Secret

With both of them being high-profile celebrities, it was a surprise that they kept their relationship a secret.

In a previous 2025 interview with Heat insider Ira Winderman, Adebayo spoke about why they chose to stay private instead of going public.

“I mean we were never shy. It was just with privacy you can actually build your foundation, work on making it solid and working towards when it gets public. We weren’t actually being secretive about it. We just know how to shut up,” Adebayo revealed.

With the NBA All-Star weekend and 2026 playoffs right around the corner, one can certainly expect some Adebayo-Wilson moments before the season ends.
