‘Destroying This Team’ — Calls Mount for Raiders To ‘Fire Pete Carroll’ As Fans Lash Out After MNF Disaster vs. Cowboys

A seemingly unavoidable loss for the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 11 at the hands of the Cowboys has been the last straw for fans with Pete Carroll.

Could the dominance of the Dallas Cowboys be back? Who knows. But what NFL fans who tuned into Week 11’s edition of Monday Night Football do know is that the Cowboys gave the Las Vegas Raiders what can only be equated to a public beating.

The Cowboys entered the game with a 3-5-1 overall record, compared to the Raiders’ 2-7. Dallas wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens were benched throughout the opening drive due to a disciplinary matter surrounding attendance. And still, the Raiders lost. Needless to say, their fans were not happy.

Las Vegas Raiders Fans Call for Pete Carroll’s Termination

To put it bluntly, and if the Raiders are to be analyzed honestly, Las Vegas has struggled all season, and it has certainly not been the best of showings for head coach Pete Carroll in his first season as the lead man.

Carroll came in this past offseason, and what will only be another loss — this time to the Cowboys — will only force him to answer some tough questions.

“It’s been time to Fire Pete Carroll. I hope the Cowboys embarrass them tonight. Need the ball to start rolling,” one fan said on X.

“If the Raiders don’t win, they have to bench Geno Smith – if they don’t. I’M TEAM FIRE PETE CARROLL,” another said.

Carroll studied philosophy at the University of Pacific and is in the midst of his 31st season in the league, most recently serving as the Executive VP and Head Coach of the Seattle Seahawks (2010-23). His NFL career began as the defensive backs coach for the Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings before he became the New York Jets’ defensive coordinator.

“Bench Geno, if not fire Chip, Pete, Brandon Carroll,” said another NFL watcher.

“You need to fire Pete Carroll, he is destroying this team,” another person posted on X while directly tagging the Raiders.

According to Carroll’s own LinkedIn, he is one of only three coaches to win both a Super Bowl (XLVIII) and a college football national championship (2003, 2004).
“Raiders Fire Pete Carroll,” said another NFL fan.

“Fire Pete Carroll!!!” exclaimed someone else.

Coming into Week 11, the Raiders were on a three-game losing streak, which included a loss to the Denver Broncos and a shutout loss to the Kansas City Chiefs (31-0) on October 19.

“I would fire Pete Carroll tonight. Obviously, this isn’t working, and the Raiders need to tank and once again start over with someone who will actually draft and develop a QB,” another fan said on X. “But they won’t, because they’re the dumbest organization in sports.”

One person even went as far as to say the Raiders need to clean house and reset the entire coaching staff.

“FIRE PETE CARROLL AND ALL THE STAFF,” he said.

The Cowboys also made a safety with just over 11 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter during Week 11, at the time the scoreboard read 33-16 in favor of the Cowboys.

Dallas, which currently has the second-worst defense in the league according to PFSN’s NFL Defense Impact metric, was able to put up an excellent performance against the Raiders.
