A fresh start for George Pickens turned out to be everything he needed. The Dallas Cowboys wide receiver is having one of the best seasons of his career and is on pace to shatter his personal records. Here’s an analysis of Pickens’ salary, contract, net worth, and career earnings.
George Pickens’ Salary and Contract
Pickens is a veteran in the league, but he remains under the same contract he signed as a rookie. Entering his fourth year in the NFL, Pickens and the Cowboys decided to let the season play out instead of signing an extension, allowing the two sides to understand how the relationship would work.
He’s in the final year of his four-year, $6.75 million deal signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2022. As with every player, the deal followed the rookie wage scale. This explains why Pickens signed such a low deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He was an impact player from his first day in the league, and his best season came in 2023. It was the first time that he had over 1,000 receiving yards; he finished the year with 63 receptions, 1,140 yards, and five touchdowns.
He was eligible for a contract extension following the 2024 season. However, at that point, his relationship with the Steelers was all but over. The team made it clear they wanted no part of Pickens, and he was subsequently traded to the Cowboys.
He’s currently ranked as No. 3 in PFSN’s WR Impact Metric, with an impact score of 88.6. Only Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Puka Nacua have better rankings.
Pickens’ Net Worth and Career Earnings
Many sources estimate Pickens’ net worth to be around $6 million. This number is set to improve in the next few years, once he signs his new contract, which is likely to be with the Cowboys.
With Pickens playing out the final year of his contract, he has earned the entire value of his contract, which is $ 6.75 million. There are currently no credible reports of his endorsement deal.
Pickens’ Fantasy Outlook for Week 11
Here is what PFSN’s Kyle Soppe wrote about the notable Cowboys players’ fantasy outlooks for the Week 11 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders:
Pickens earned 26 targets and caught 19 passes in his three games without CeeDee Lamb, numbers that aren’t much different than what he’s posted in the three games since (24 targets and 17 catches).

The quantity has been similar, but valuable looks have evaporated, and that impacts his fantasy bottom line in a significant way.
Pickens saw multiple end zone targets in all three games with Dallas’s WR1 sidelined, fueling him to average over three PPR points per target. In the three games since, however, he has a total of one such look and 1.7 PPR points per target.
Those are still viable numbers, but they no longer carry the same type of week-winning upside that they once did.
It’ll be OK.
Pickens is still a lineup lock thanks to his well-defined role in one of the five most pass-heavy offenses in the sport. The week-to-week variance is present, but the floor is still high enough to justify playing him weekly, holding out hope for the monster week.
This matchup is a great spot for him, and one where Dallas has a chance to produce a pair of top-15 receivers. Remember, even this version of Pickens is a win based on what you were expecting when you drafted him nearly three months ago.
