Fans Rip Cardinals For Atrocious Performance Against Seahawks

The Seahawks absolutely boat-raced the Cardinals on Sunday, and fans let Arizona hear it on social media as the game progressed.

The Arizona Cardinals earned a season-saving win last week on Monday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys, but fans quickly forgot about that during Sunday’s atrocious performance against the Seattle Seahawks. There was some optimism in Arizona for the first time in six weeks after the Cardinals’ best performance of the season on Monday.

However, Arizona traveled to Seattle and failed to disembark from the plane for Sunday’s game. The Cardinals went down 21-0 before the end of the first quarter on Sunday, and fans were quick to express their dissatisfaction with the team.

How Did Fans React To the Cardinals’ Beatdown In Seattle?

The Seahawks scored a touchdown on each of their first three drives of the game and a defensive touchdown on two of Arizona’s first three possessions.

Less than 20 minutes into the game, Seattle had taken a 35-0 lead, and fans had had enough. They took to social media to voice they’re displeasure. One fan wrote, “thanks to the Arizona Cardinals for doing this in the first quarter, it frees up my afternoon to do something enjoyable.”

Thankfully, the fan has other plans. But Johnny Venerable from the “PHNX Cardinals” podcast took to sarcasm and humor, posting a video of a fence opening up like a gate and a car passing through it with a caption, “Live look at the Arizona Cardinals offensive line.”

Fans also began to question the Cardinals’ quarterback decision with as much hate as Kyler Murray received throughout the week. It’s safe to say that many don’t think the Cardinals know what they’re doing at this point.

One fan posted a hilarious reaction meme with the caption, “Kyler Murray on the sideline watching “QB1” Jacoby Brissett lead the Cardinals to a 1-3 record.”

The Cardinals finally put a drive together midway through the second quarter and got down to the Seahawks’ 1-yard line. However, Arizona turned it over on downs.

The Seahawks gave it right back on a fumbled snap by quarterback Sam Darnold, and the Cardinals finally got on the board with a Greg Dortch rushing touchdown.

Seattle responded with a field goal, and that led to halftime with the Seahawks up 38-7. It was the most points the Cardinals had given up in a half since they did so against the Seahawks in 2012, losing that game 58-0. One fan wrote, “I’ve seen this Cardinals Seahawks game before,” and posted an image of the 2012 game scoreboard.

The Cardinals made a slight comeback in the second half, but never made it anywhere close.

Arizona drove the length of the field to open the third quarter, but turned it over on downs. The Cardinals then picked Darnold off and capitalized with a Trey McBride touchdown to make it a 23-point game.

The Cardinals got the ball back and drove into Seattle territory again, but turned it over on downs once again.

Arizona did get another touchdown early in the fourth quarter to make it a 19-point game, but never got it any closer than that.

The Seahawks dominated the Cardinals, and now fans are calling for coach Jonathan Gannon’s job. One fan wrote, “It certainly looks like Jonathan Gannon is getting FIRED after this game. Arizona Cardinals playing the worst game of the entire NFL season.”

The Seahawks came into the game with the No. 7 offense and No. 4 defense in the NFL, according to PFSN’s Offense Impact and Defense Impact, and they did not disappoint.

There will be a lot to talk about for the Cardinals this week.
