Broncos’ Bo Nix’s Stats Stacked Up Against Other QBs Historically

Bo Nix is leading the Denver Broncos to the second-highest-seeded playoff among Year 2 quarterbacks into Week 9 behind fellow QB Drake Maye.

Five quarterbacks were selected ahead of the Denver Broncos’ QB Bo Nix during the 2024 NFL Draft. But, through eight games in their second seasons, Nix leads the second-highest-seeded playoff team into Week 9 behind fellow QB Drake Maye. Zooming out, though, let’s see where Nix’s stats stack up historically.

Seeing How Good Bo Nix Is

Through 25 starts, here are Nix’s numbers below: 65.1% completion percentage, 5,578 yards (223.1 yards per game), 44:17 TD-to-INT ratio, 6.5 yards per attempt, and a 92.5 passer rating

Pretty, pretty good. Through 25 starts, Nix is the seventh QB to account for 50-plus total touchdowns and fewer than 20 turnovers. The other six quarterbacks are the following:

Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert, Lamar Jackson, Aaron Rodgers, Dak Prescott, and Brock Purdy. This is a great company to be a part of. In fact, Nix ranks No. 5 on the list. Forget touchdowns, though; it took Nix less than 25 starts, only 23, to eclipse 5,000 passing yards. He is tied for the fourth-fastest QB to 5,000 passing yards.

Herbert is first, while Joe Burrow and C.J. Stroud are tied for second fastest. Nix is tied with Trevor Lawrence and Purdy, as mentioned above.

Through 25 starts, Nix has compiled a 16-9 record. He is tied with John Elway for most wins through a Broncos quarterback’s first two seasons. For reference, the Broncos have nine games remaining. This isn’t a puff piece; Nix is legit.

Wrapping back around to his draft class, it’s mind-boggling why Nix was the sixth QB off the board. His 51 total touchdowns through 25 starts are the most by any QB in the class. The next-best QB trails by 12 with 40 total touchdowns. Nix has the third-highest QBi in his draft class, behind Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels, respectively.

Nix’s PFSN QB Impact Score through eight weeks is a 79. He’s No. 14 among qualified quarterbacks, but that feels low. Because the Broncos’ defense ranks first in PFSN’s Defense Impact Score, it overshadows Nix. In other words, he can win shootouts if he gets in them. Case in point: the Broncos’ offense ranks No. 9 in PFSN’s Offense Impact Score.

Nix did his part in Week 8, passing for four touchdowns. The Cowboys’ No. 4 offense in PFSN’s Offense Impact Score did not show up. After two games in five days — the next two weeks are against the Houston Texans and Las Vegas Raiders — the Broncos face off against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 11. Nix will finally be able to show America that he is a franchise quarterback, according to the stats.
