Iga Świątek claimed her first Wimbledon title and sixth Grand Slam title by defeating 13th-seeded American Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 in just 57 minutes on Saturday, July 12. The victory marked a double bagel for the Pole, who finally secured her first major of the year after falling short in the semifinals of both the Australian Open and the French Open.
The 24-year-old made history with her dominant performance, marking just the third time in history that a women’s major final ended in a double-bagel. Several notable personalities were in attendance to watch the title clash, including Catherine, the Princess of Wales, who also took part in the presentation ceremony.

Iga Świątek Won her First Title Since French Open 2024 by Winning Wimbledon
Świątek’s Wimbledon triumph marked her first singles title since winning the French Open in 2024. Ever since sweeping all the big tournaments on clay last year, the Pole failed to live up to her lofty standards and went over a year without reaching any final. She reached the semifinals of several notable tournaments but had to wait till this year’s grass season for her first final since June 2024.
Świątek reached a title clash on grass for the very first time in her senior career at the Bad Homburg Open, where she lost to Jessica Pegula. This was, of course, followed by her titanic win at Wimbledon. The 24-year-old now has 42 wins out of 53 matches so far in th 2025 season.
