Who are the Announcers for 49ers-Eagles on Sunday Afternoon?

On Tuesday, the NFL, along with several beat reporters, announced that Kevin Burkhardt (play-by-play) and Tom Brady (color commentator) will lead FOX’s broadcast of the 49ers vs. Eagles matchup on Sunday afternoon.

Kevin Burkhardt is widely considered one of the best in the business. The play-by-play announcer joined FOX in 2013 and remained long enough to earn a promotion to the network’s “A-team” in 2022. Since then, Burkhardt has served as FOX’s top NFL announcer, calling two Super Bowls in 2023 and 2025.

Tom Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion, has been calling NFL games on FOX since 2024. Brady signed the largest commentator contract in history at 10 years and $375 million, and was immediately slotted in as FOX’s lead color commentator. In early 2025, Brady, then a first-year announcer, had the opportunity to call the Super Bowl alongside Burkhardt.

Despite Brady’s all-time great NFL résumé and detailed knowledge of the game, many fans questioned whether he deserved the lead position on FOX so quickly. Awful Announcing survey results reflected that the Burkhardt and Brady booth ranked as low as 14th.

However, it soon became apparent that Brady simply needed time to settle in. According to Awful Announcing, Burkhardt and Brady jumped to ninth by late 2025, with noticeable improvement along the way. During the Bears vs. Packers Week 16 matchup, viewers were especially pleased with Brady’s performance.

Fans even took to X to share their thoughts. One fan tweeted, “Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady are the best duo in announcing NFL games right now and it is not close.” Another wrote, “He and Kevin Burkhardt just had the best announced NFL game in YEARS.”

On the sidelines, Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi will round out the broadcast. Andrews has been with FOX since 2012, while Rinaldi joined the network in 2021. Both Andrews and Rinaldi are sure to provide strong insight for the viewers.

With the 49ers’ fourth-ranked offense per PFSN’s Offense Impact metric, against the Eagles’ seventh-ranked defense according to PFSN, along with arguably the best announcing crew in the game, FOX will undoubtedly make 49ers-Eagles a very memorable broadcast.

Tom Brady is a terrible announcer and color play. You’ve got to do better than that!
