The Denver Broncos’ tight 10-7 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders should have been a celebration, but instead, it only amplified concerns about the team’s overall performance. That shaky win now casts a shadow on their prospects ahead of a crucial matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Despite the team’s strong 8-2 record, Bo Nix’s lackluster offensive showing in a high-profile game has intensified the scrutiny on his ability to lead the Broncos in clutch situations. The win felt more like a warning than a statement.
Can Bo Nix Prove He Is a Franchise Quarterback?
Amid the divided opinions circulating on social media, former NFL cornerback Asante Samuel publicly sided with the doubters, stating plainly on his profile, “Please don’t tell me anyone believes in Bo Nix. He isn’t like that!”

The exaggerated commentary following Thursday’s game has fueled intense pressure before one of the most important matchups of the season. While Nix has certainly struggled, addressing the broader offensive issues is just as critical to the Broncos’ success.
However, despite the recent criticism, Nix has thrown the fourteenth-most touchdowns among NFL quarterbacks this season and has been sacked the fewest times among starters. Some fans have pointed to Denver’s demanding schedule as a reason for the weak showing against the Raiders, attributing it to physical and emotional fatigue.
Following the Week 11 game against the Chiefs, who currently rank 10th in the PFN Defense Impact with a B- grade, the Broncos will get a timely bye week for Nix to regroup. After the break, Denver faces the Commanders on November 30 and has a rematch with the Raiders on December 7, a stretch of games that could decide their AFC West title hopes. In his weekly QB Rankings, PFN’s Jacob Infante placed Nix at No. 17 out of 38 quarterbacks.
“The Denver Broncos keep stacking up wins, and Thursday’s game against the Raiders kept that trend alive. It hasn’t always been pretty, and Bo Nix’s inconsistency has been a reason why. He threw two interceptions and only 150 yards, but he still came away with the win,” Infante wrote.
“Nix has been a perfectly capable game manager this season: nothing more, nothing less. That alone has been enough to keep the Broncos competitive with how good their defense has been this season. Whether or not that continues in the postseason remains to be seen,” Infante continued.
Because of these factors, it will be crucial to observe how the Broncos’ offense performs against the Chiefs in a game that could confirm whether Denver is a legitimate contender for the division crown.
