The Dallas Cowboys have become a Thanksgiving tradition, and this year they hosted the Kansas City Chiefs in Arlington, Texas.
Kansas City is currently leading the Cowboys, but the fans are wondering if Xavier Worthy is playing or if he is injured again.
Was Xavier Worthy Injured During The Chiefs’ Game?
The Chiefs entered Week 13 with a 6-5 record, while the Cowboys are 5-5-1. Kansas City has not been having the kind of season fans expected in 2025, but they are looking to climb the ranks in the AFC West.
Winning this game is a key factor in the Chiefs’ odds of making the playoffs. To achieve this, they will have to go through the Cowboys, who, at 5-5 and second in the NFC East, are trying to carve their own postseason path.

The fact that the Chiefs have been chasing the Cowboys the whole game has fans wondering if Worthy is injured again. He dislocated his shoulder during Week 1 of the 2025 season against the Denver Broncos and missed two games.

Fans were relieved to have him back, so they were understandably concerned when they saw he had tweaked his ankle during Week 11, and it continued to be a factor in Week 12.
On Monday, Worthy appeared as limited on the team’s injury report, sending a ripple of concern through the fans, who knew he would be a necessary component for the Chiefs to win.
He returned as a full participant for both Tuesday and Wednesday and has been playing in the game against the Cowboys, although it may not meet the fans’ expectations.
As of the start of the first quarter, Worthy has been a relatively minor factor. He is currently fourth on the team with three receptions for 19 yards and no touchdowns. He also rushed twice for 13 yards.
While Worthy has struggled to get going, Rashee Rice has had eight receptions for 92 yards and two touchdowns. Leading fans to joke on social media that Rice is taking over Worthy’s job.
It isn’t just that Worthy hasn’t been targeted; it’s also what he’s done with the targets he’s gotten. He dropped a huge, nearly 40-yard pass that would have put the Chiefs in the lead. Additionally, Worthy later committed a questionable pass interference penalty that erased a first down.
While Worthy might not seem like a valuable contributor on Thanksgiving Day, many of the factors working against him are not entirely his fault.
