XX-XY Athletics Founder, Jennifer Sey, stated that Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham has been actively supporting the anti-trans cause by liking and sharing their content.
Sey expressed admiration for Cunningham and described her as a crucial star who helps bring these issues to the forefront of the cultural conversation.

A former USA national gymnastics champion, Sey, launched XX-XY Athletics in March 2024. It is an activist sportswear brand named directly after biological sex chromosomes (XX for female, XY for male). The brand markets itself around ‘saving women’s sports’ and openly opposes transgender women participating in female athletic categories.
The connection between Sey and Indiana Fever guard Cunningham reportedly began in October 2024. The former gymnast recently told Fox News Digital that Cunningham privately praised their organization’s viral ‘Dear Nike’ campaign in 2024.
“She’s the perfect person for us… We have wanted to work with her for such a long time,” Sey said.
In a recent ESPN article, Cunningham publicly articulated her stance against transgender participation in female sports categories.
“I want to protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn’t have to go against biological men,” Cunningham wrote.
During her latest appearance on Fox News, Sey was all praise for Cunningham. She expressed admiration for the 29-year-old while claiming that she is an important ‘star’ who will help their campaign.
“She said what she said. She’s not bending a knee, she’s not backing down, and she’s going to take whatever she gets. She’s the star we needed to put this at the centre of the culture conversation,” Sey told Fox News.

Cunningham further solidified these ties after a recent game, where she was seen posing alongside Sey and political activist Riley Gaines.
The off-court spotlight on Cunningham comes amidst an eventful week on the court. She recently drew widespread support across the WNBA world following a heated incident with DiJonai Carrington on August 8. During the Fever-Sky matchup, the Chicago Sky guard struck Cunningham down, resulting in a Flagrant 2 foul and an immediate ejection.
Carrington created more ruckus with her post-match reaction by suggesting on social media that Cunningham benefited from “white privilege.” However, fans and prominent figures, including Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, rejected that narrative.
In on-court matters, the Indiana Fever (20-12) turn their focus back to competition as they prepare to host the New York Liberty (20-13) on Tuesday, August 11.
