The Commissioner’s Cup is in full swing. This week has been a rollercoaster—some teams soared while others struggled.

Check out this week’s power rankings to see the latest risers and fallers.

13) Connecticut Sun

Record: 1-6

Last Week: 12 ⬇️

Tues, May 27th | CON 87 – DAL 109 (L)

Fri, May 30th | CON 85 – IND 83 (W)

Sun, June 1st | CON 52 – NYK 100 (L)

The Connecticut Sun secured their first win of the season this week, defeating the Indiana Fever. While the Fever played without Caitlin Clark, the Sun avoided joining the four teams that went winless. However, the Sun struggled overall—they lost both other games by more than twenty points, averaged the third-lowest points per game over the week, and ranked second worst in turnovers during that stretch.

12) Dallas Wings

Record: 1-6

Last Week: 11 ⬇️

Tues, May 27th | DAL 109 – CON 87 (W)

Thurs, May 29th | DAL 92 – CHI 97 (L)

Sat, May 31st | DAL 83 – CHI 94 (L)

Paige Bueckers notched her first WNBA win last week, but the week didn’t end on a high note. Currently sidelined with a concussion, Bueckers missed a tough loss as the Wings fell to the Sky. Despite finishing the week below .500, the Wings led the league in scoring with 94.7 points per game, posted a positive plus/minus, and delivered a standout performance with 37 points and seven assists in a single game.

11) Los Angeles Sparks

Record: 2-6

Last Week: 10 ⬇️

Tues, May 27th | LAS 82 – ATL 88 (L)

Fri, May 30th | LAS 81 – LV 96 (L)

Sun, June 1st | LAS 80 – PHO 85 (L)

The Los Angeles Sparks had a challenging week, dropping all three games but remaining competitive throughout. They scored at least 80 points in each matchup and lost only one game by double digits. Defensively, the Sparks ranked second in the WNBA for steals over the past week. However, their three-point shooting struggled, ranking last in the league with a 29.5% success rate from deep.

10) Golden State Valkyries

Record: 2-4

Last Week: 8 ⬇️

Tues, May 27th | GSV 67 – NYK 95 (L)

Thurs, May 29th | GSV 77 – NYK 82 (L)

Sun, June 1st | GSV 75 – MIN 86 (L)

After starting their season above .500 through the first three games, the Golden State Valkyries hit a rough patch. This week proved challenging as they faced the league’s two undefeated teams. The Valkyries fought hard in each matchup but ultimately fell short. Additionally, Golden State struggled with ball control, leading the league in turnovers during the week.

9) Chicago Sky

Record: 2-4

Last Week: 13 ⬆️

Tues, May 27th | CHI 89 – PHO 94 (L)

Fri, May 30th | CHI 97 – DAL 92 (W)

Sun, June 1st | CHI 94 – DAL 83 (W)

The Chicago Sky have finally gotten into the win column, and they did so with two wins this week against the Dallas Wings. After having the worst plus/minus last week, the Sky were in the top five this week at a +3.7. Though they were still a high turnover team this week, they did rank in the top two in assists.

8) Indiana Fever

Record: 2-4

Last Week: 6 ⬇️

Wed, May 28th | IND 77 – WAS 83 (L)

Fri, May 30th | IND 83 –  85 (L)

The Indiana Fever have been playing without superstar Caitlin Clark, and their record has suffered. Clark’s quad strain was just the start of the injury bug for the Fever. After scoring 86.3 points per game last week, the Fever are down to scoring 80.0 points and have dropped to the bottom three in the league this week in assists per game.

7) Washington Mystics

Record: 3-4

Last Week: 9 ⬆️

Wed, May 28th | WAS 83 – IND 77 (W)

Fri, May 30th | WAS 63 –  NYK 85 (L)

The Washington Mystics continue to surprise the league with their competitive play. This young team, behind rookies Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen, and veterans Brittney Sykes and Stephanie Dolson, have made this team a playoff threat. The Mystics are in the top five in defensive rating and led the league in rebounds per game this week.

6) Seattle Storm

Record: 3-4

Last Week: 3 ⬇️

Tues, May 27th | SEA 77 – MIN 82 (L)

Fri, May 30th | SEA 87 – ATL 94 (L)

Sun, June 1st | SEA 70 – LV 75 (L)

The Seattle Storm faced a tougher schedule this week, which contributed to a winless stretch. After holding the No. 3 spot last week, they dropped the most in the rankings this week. Despite competing hard in every game, Seattle’s scoring dipped, landing them in the league’s bottom five for points per game.

5) Las Vegas Aces

Record: 4-2

Last Week: 7 ⬆️

Fri, May 30th | LV 96 – LAS 81 (W)

Sun, June 1st | LV 75 – SEA 70 (W)

The Las Vegas Aces made one of the biggest jumps in the standings this week, returning to the form that made them champions twice in the last three years. The Aces ranked second in plus/minus, finished in the top five for points per game, and saw A’ja Wilson return to MVP form, leading the league in both scoring and blocks per game.

4) Phoenix Mercury

Record: 5-2

Last Week: 4 ↔️

Tues, May 27th | PHO 94 – CHI 89 (W)

Fri, May 30th | PHO 71 – MIN 74 (L)

Sun, June 1st | PHO 85 – LAS 80 (W)

The Phoenix Mercury have continued to play high-level basketball this week. Though star Alyssa Thomas was out two of the three games this week, Satou Sabally showed why the Mercury could be a championship threat this season. Phoenix ranked in the top five in defensive rating this week and in the top three in assists per game.

3) Atlanta Dream

Record: 5-2

Last Week: 5 ⬆️

Tues, May 27th | ATL 88 – LAS 82 (W)

Fri, May 30th | ATL 94 –  SEA 87 (W)

The Atlanta Dream have been performing near their peak to start the season. While offseason additions have contributed, the team’s two multi-year stars have led the charge this week. Three-point champion Allisha Gray and 2022 Rookie of the Year Rhyne Howard combined to average 50 points per game as Atlanta topped the league in offensive rating.

2) Minnesota Lynx

Record: 7-0

Fri, May 30th | MIN 74 – PHO 71 (W)

Sun, June 1st | MIN 86 – GSV 75 (W)

The Minnesota Lynx continue to prove they’re one of the WNBA’s elite teams. Even without MVP front-runner Napheesa Collier for a game, the Lynx remain unbeaten. This week, they ranked among the top three in the league for net rating.

1) New York Liberty

Record: 7-0

Last Week: 1 ↔️

Tues, May 27th | NYK 95 – GSV 67 (W)
