Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese is having a historic season, breaking multiple major records. In the Dream’s recent 78-71 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks on Monday, Reese finished with 11 points, three assists, three steals, and a WNBA record 26 rebounds.
After the game, Reese spoke on her performance, and the WNBA world wasn’t exactly pleased with her comments.

After the game, Reese was congratulated by a reporter for setting an “NBA record,” which was obviously an error. Reese gave him a funny look as he said, “well you know what I’m talking about.”
The Dream star responded, “No I don’t because I be setting NBA records too.”
The WNBA world had plenty to say, with ClutchPoints initially posting about the comment on X.

Another fan, Meran, claimed that they now understand why not everyone is a fan of Reese.
“I now understand why both former NBA players and current are not fans of this delusional individual..even Grey and coach are laughing..I can only imagine being an NBA player and hearing this..scared for next gen of young girls if this is there role model,” they tweeted.

Reese has faced plenty of criticism dating back to her days at LSU, and although she does make some comments that can come off the wrong way, situations are often overblown.
Another account believes Reese will keep her team from advancing beyond the first round because of her attitude.

What makes this performance even more impressive is that it came just two days after Reese scored a career-high 31 points and pulled down 14 rebounds in a 99-89 win over the Phoenix Mercury.
They also commented on Reese’s college experience.
“She never went to class at LSU because she claimed everyone wanted to be around her and felt unsafe,” they said.
All that meant was that Reese took classes online, which is common practice these days.

Another user questioned Reese’s offense.

Reese’s offense remains an issue, although she is shooting slightly above her career average from the field this season. She is still averaging 16.1 points, 12.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.8 steals in 31.4 minutes per game for the Dream, who clinched a playoff spot over the weekend.
Much like several other WNBA rivals, including Reese’s perceived rival in Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, the Dream star has become a polarizing figure in the league, and everything she says tends to come under severe scrutiny.
It sounds like Reese is aware of that, and it hasn’t stopped her from continuing what has been an excellent season.
