Allisha Gray was left in awe of Angel Reese following her record-breaking performance against the Los Angeles Sparks on Monday.
Reese set two rebounding records in the Dream’s 78-71 win against the Sparks, finishing with 11 points, 26 rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Meanwhile, Gray finished the game with 20 points, three rebounds, and six assists.

After the game, Gray was asked to comment on Reese’s historic performance in the Dream’s win. The veteran guard praised Reese while reacting to her final stat line.
“Yo, I was looking at the stat thing, and I’m like, dang,” she said on the NBC broadcast. “How many rebounds she had? Like, 20, 21, 22, 23 rebounds? And I’m like, I don’t think in my life I got more than 10 rebounds.”
She continued, saying that Reese’s rebounding left her in awe, “That’s just a talent, I’m just in awe watching her rebound.”
Reese’s performance on Monday saw her set the record for most rebounds in a game, which was previously held by Chamique Holdsclaw. She set the record in 2003 after grabbing 24 rebounds.
The Dream star also surpassed the mark for most rebounds in a season with 458 boards to her name. The record was previously held by A’ja Wilson, who grabbed 451 rebounds in 2024.
Reese struck a different tone when asked about her performance on Monday, saying that she only had the team’s benefit in mind.
“Last time I was here, I didn’t miss any shots. Tonight I couldn’t hit [anything] so I knew I was going be able to get them on the rebounding side,” Reese said after the game. “I just want to be there for my team. Offensively, defensively, whatever it takes to win.”
Reese is now averaging 16.1 points, 12.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.8 steals through 37 games this season. She is shooting 43.7% from the field.

The Dream are on a four-game winning streak and have overtaken the Indiana Fever in the WNBA standings, grabbing the fourth seed with a 25-13 record. They are 7-3 over their last 10 games.
Reese has also turned around her shooting struggles from earlier this month, shooting well over her last four outings. With six regular-season games remaining on the Dream’s schedule, Reese seems to be finding her footing just in time for the playoffs. Next up for the Dream is a clash against the Portland Fire on Friday.
