WNBA Analyst Shockingly Claims Indiana Fever Are ‘More Dangerous’ Without Caitlin Clark

In Caitlin Clark's absence, Indiana Fever's other stars have been impressive, rattling off five wins to hold on to fifth place in the WNBA standings

ESPN’s Kendra Andrews was one of the many analysts impressed by the Caitlin Clark-less Indiana Fever’s quality ball. The Eastern Conference unit began their second half of the 2025 WNBA season with a bang, building a solid win streak despite the absence of their superstar guard.

Clark last played on July 15 after going down with a devastating left groin injury against the Connecticut Sun. She has been on the bench since, and in what comes as a major blow for the Fever, has no return timetable.

However, Indiana’s other stars and the bench have been impressive, rattling off five wins to hold on to fifth place in the WNBA standings with a 17-12 record.

Kendra Andrews Praises Fever’s Run in Caitlin Clark’s Absence

Speaking on Disney+ Vibe Check, Kendra Andrews was all praise for the Fever side. “I mean, you have to look at Kelsey Mitchell. She’s been on a tear. Aliyah Boston is having an incredible season,” she said.

“It’s been exciting, actually… to watch how the Fever have grown without Caitlin Clark,” Andrews added. “You take your centerpiece away, and it’s weird, right? I think the Fever has grown so much that they are a more dangerous team.”

Mitchell and Boston have been consistent for the Fever. Mitchell averages 19.5 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 29 games. Boston is propping up 15.5 points and 8.3 rebounds with impact performances on both ends.

Natasha Howard, Aari McDonald, and Sophie Cunningham have played their roles to perfection to put Indiana in a strong position for the playoffs. The Fever bench has been one of their major highlights, with its stellar defense while also chipping in with timely buckets, keeping the offense churning.

The Fever will hope to notch up as many wins as possible in the remaining 11 games. With head coach Stephanie White noting that there was no concrete timeline on Clark’s return, a better win record also provides the unit with a cushion while their second-year guard works towards returning to the hardwood.

After making the postseason as the eighth seed last season, the Fever looked primed for another strong finish to the regular season. On Tuesday, they can register their sixth win in a row when they take on the resurgent Los Angeles Sparks at the Crypto.com Arena. Only time will tell if they can maintain their good streak until Caitlin Clark’s return to the fold.
