What Happened to Caitlin Clark? Latest Update On Fever Star’s Injury After Leaving Wings Clash Early

Let's take a closer look at the latest injury update on Caitlin Clark after the Indiana Fever star left the Dallas Wings clash early.

The Indiana Fever are now playing against the Dallas Wings in an exciting preseason clash. They are among the most famous WNBA teams in the world right now, and Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers are the reasons behind it. Now, Dallas has welcomed UConn superstar Azzi Fudd as the No. 1 pick from the 2026 WNBA Draft, too.

Clark and Bueckers have both put on a show in this game. So far in the third quarter, Clark has put up 21 points in 16 minutes, and Bueckers has scored 20 in 20 minutes. It looks like both superstars are resuming right where they left off.

Is Caitlin Clark Injured?

Unfortunately for Clark fans, the Fever guard has left the game early due to an injury. Clark was fouled by Alanna Smith, and the officials ruled it as a Flagrant 1.

However, bad news for Fever is that Clark had to leave the game limping. It apparently looks like she may have tweaked her right ankle.

The biggest question for Fever fans would be if Clark will have to be sidelined further due to this injury. For some context, the guard was only able to play in 13 games last year, averaging 16.5 points, 8.8 assists, and 5.5 rebounds. Her 3-point shooting was also not up to par at 27.9%, well below her usual standards.

She won the 2024 Rookie of the Year award in stunning fashion after a record-breaking first season in Indiana. In July 2025, she was sidelined indefinitely after suffering a groin injury during the Fever’s win against the Connecticut Sun. To make matters worse, Clark then suffered a bone bruise while recovering from the initial groin injury.

Clark was then shut down for the rest of the 2025 season in September. The Fever still managed to go on an impressive postseason run, thanks to the likes of Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston.

It remains unknown whether Clark will be sidelined, but she didn’t return to the game. If it turns out that Clark will have to undergo another recovery process, it will be a massive blow for Indiana. Their opponents are much stronger this year, including the New York Liberty.

But the Fever now has the talented Raven Johnson, the versatile star from South Carolina. It will be interesting to see how she steps up when the team needs her, especially if Clark is forced to watch from the sidelines.
