‘Terrible For the Game’ – Grammy-Nominated Rapper Blasts Caitlin Clark Fans’ ‘Disgusting’ Behavior Toward Kelsey Mitchell

Rapper Plies slams Caitlin Clark fans for disgusting comments after the Fever honored Kelsey Mitchell online.

A promotional graphic meant to celebrate one of the WNBA’s best players instead sparked another controversy in the ongoing debate over how Caitlin Clark’s fan base treats those around her. Rapper Plies decided he had seen enough.

He did not hold back against Clark’s fans, who have apparently not shown any love towards her teammates.

Piles Goes Ballistic Against Caitlin Clark Fans

The controversy began after the Indiana Fever posted a graphic celebrating Kelsey Mitchell’s scoring output over her last 24 games.

Rather than simply appreciating the achievement, a large portion of the responses turned into complaints that the team had failed to properly promote Clark, who many commenters believe deserves this year’s MVP award.

The backlash was so controversial that it caught the attention of Plies, who took to social media to call out what he saw in the comments.

“Read The Comments,” Plies wrote. “Why Would Anyone Wanna Play There??? No Seriously??? It’s Terrible For The Game & It’s Sad To See!!!! How Could Anyone Even Try & Justify This Kinda Behavior!!! Sicken & Disgusting & The Crazy Part They Think It’s Ok & Completely Normal!!”

The Grammy-nominated rapper has been a vocal presence on social media throughout the WNBA season, frequently weighing in on storylines involving the league’s biggest stars.

His latest comments add to criticism aimed at a segment of Clark’s fan base, which has repeatedly been accused of undermining her teammates and the league itself in the name of defending her.

Mitchell has put together one of the best seasons of her career, setting a WNBA record with 17 consecutive 20-point performances while averaging over 24 points per game.

Clark, meanwhile, has been just as productive, averaging 22.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 8.4 assists. Both players remain in the conversation for the league’s MVP award, currently led by reigning winner A’ja Wilson.

This is not the first time this season that criticism has been directed at the more combative elements of Clark’s following. Multiple reporters covering the league have described facing harassment tied to their coverage of Clark and the Fever.

Both Clark and Mitchell have publicly pushed back on the idea that any personal tension exists between them, with Clark previously trolling Mitchell in a lighthearted exchange after the WNBA All-Star Game.
