‘She’s So Trash’ – WNBA Fans Brutally Roast Angel Reese as Viral Stat Details Sky’s Historically Bad Start to the Season

The Chicago Sky and Angel Reese have not enjoyed a great start to the new WNBA season, which is all fans needed to get on the criticism train

The Chicago Sky and Angel Reese opened the 2025 WNBA season with two blowout losses, a 93-58 defeat against the Indiana Fever, and a 99-74 collapse at home to the New York Liberty.

According to ESPN’s Alexa Philippou, their -60 point differential is the worst through the first two games in league history. In her words, Philippou stated, “Tough start to 2025 in Chicago: The Sky’s -60 point differential this season is the worst through the first two games of a season in WNBA history.”

Because of her performance, Reese is receiving a lot of online criticism. Against New York, she went scoreless from the field, going 0-for-8. All her achievements could be summed up in just two points from the free-throw line. Despite seizing 12 rebounds, she committed five turnovers and posted a -25 plus-minus. Over two games, Reese is shooting 5-for-22 and has turned the ball over ten times.

Chicago next faces the Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday in a matchup between two teams still trying to find consistency.

WNBA Fans React Harshly to Angel Reese’s Struggles Following Historic Stat

The internet did not hold back after Reese’s performance against the New York Liberty. Once her stat line surfaced, fans flooded social media with direct criticism.

“She’s so trash,” one user posted on X.

“And people say she’s as good as Clark,” another wrote.

A third added, “My Angel Reese stocks 📉.”

Some called for immediate changes to the Chicago Sky’s rotation, with one fan commenting, “They need Carter, bad…” in reference to Chennedy Carter, who is expected to play a bigger role as the season progresses.

Reese’s on-court frustrations have also gone viral. In clips from the season opener, she can be seen glaring at Caitlin Clark after a three-pointer, fueling conversations about the ongoing tension between the two rising stars.

Chicago Sky’s Inefficient Offense and Roster Gaps Show Early Warning Signs

The Sky were hoping to rebound after finishing 13-27 in 2024, but the early numbers are difficult to ignore. Through two games, they are averaging just 66 points while allowing nearly 100 per contest. The shooting numbers remain low. The Sky shot 29.1% in their opener and 36.2% against the Liberty.

The only sparks in Chicago’s losing game were Courtney Vandersloot and Rachel Banham, who, respectively, had 14 and 15 points. The rest struggled offensively, leaving Angel Reese to function in a stagnant system that does not appear built to support her skill set.

Reese debuted this season with sky-high expectations after averaging 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds as a rookie. She finished second in Rookie of the Year voting behind Caitlin Clark and played in 35 consecutive games before a wrist injury ended her 2024 campaign early.

The Sky will travel to face the Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday at 5 p.m. ET. According to ESPN’s analytics, Chicago has a 36.3% chance to secure its first win of the year.
