The Dallas Wings’ 2025 season isn’t going as anyone had hoped. After selecting college superstar Paige Bueckers in the 2025 WNBA Draft, expectations were sky-high. But so far, the team has struggled to find its rhythm.
On June 11, the Wings suffered their 10th loss of the season, falling 93-80 to the Phoenix Mercury. While the loss added another dent to Dallas’ rough start, it was Bueckers’ postgame gesture that stole hearts and went viral, reminding fans why she’s not just a star on the court but off it as well.
Paige Bueckers Has Nice Postgame Interaction with Fans
Despite the disappointing result, Bueckers didn’t let the loss dampen her spirits. After the game, she made time for a group of young fans eagerly waiting to meet their idol. Smiling through the heartbreak of another tough night, the Wings guard posed for photos, signed autographs, and shared brief but meaningful moments with the kids.
The wholesome interaction was quickly shared across social media platforms, as reporter Hayden Cilley shared. Fans started praising Bueckers for her grace, humility and unwavering positivity even during challenging times.

Wednesday night’s game itself, though, was another tough pill to swallow for Dallas. Starting from tip-off, the Wings struggled to gain control. By halftime, they trailed the Mercury by six points.
The second half only widened the gap. In the fourth quarter, Phoenix extended its lead to as much as 16 points, a margin Dallas couldn’t recover from, ultimately sealing their 10th defeat of the young season.
But while the team’s struggles continued, June 11 was still a remarkable night for Bueckers individually. Back to the court after a four-game absence because of a concussion and illness, she packed an electric performance. She dropped a career-high 35 points, six rebounds, and four assists.
“There’s nowhere I’d rather be. Battled some stuff, glad to be back. Excited to keep building, get back on the court,” said Bueckers on Tuesday, showing her enthusiasm to be back.
Bueckers’ incredible performance wasn’t just a personal milestone; it also placed her in elite WNBA company.
According to Polymarket Hoops, she became just the fourth-fastest rookie in league history to reach at least 100 points, 25 rebounds, and 25 assists. Only Caitlin Clark, Candace Parker, and Cynthia Cooper have reached those benchmarks quicker.

Bueckers and the Wings will need to regroup quickly. Their next test won’t be any easier as they face the reigning champions, the Las Vegas Aces, on June 13 at 10 p.m. ET.
With the team desperate for a turnaround, all eyes will once again be on Bueckers to see if she can lead Dallas out of its early-season slump.
