How Many Championships Do the Aces Have? Revisiting the Franchise’s Title Wins

With the 2025 WNBA Finals approaching, let’s take a look at the Las Vegas Aces’ playoff history and championship wins.

With another WNBA Finals series around the corner, the Las Vegas Aces are attempting something iconic — winning three titles in four seasons. And with players like A’ja Wilson and Jackie Young on their roster, winning another championship might not be a wild goal.

Established in 1997 as the Utah Starzz, the Aces continued on as the San Antonio Stars until their relocation to Las Vegas in 2018. One of the most popular WNBA franchises today, the Aces have only ramped up their recognition in the past few years.

How Many Championships Do the Las Vegas Aces Have?

The Aces, on a dominant playoff run, weren’t always a successful team. They have steadily built their reputation, currently focused on winning more titles. Of course, with Wilson on their roster, the Aces have higher chances of taking home the 2025 title.

Since their inception in 1997, the Aces have made a total of 15 playoff appearances. Last season, they finished as the No. 4 seed, making it to the semifinals before losing to the New York Liberty.

2022: Aces Bring Home First Franchise Title

In 2022, the Aces went viral for winning their first franchise title and bringing home the first-ever major win for a Las Vegas team.

Led by head coach Becky Hammon, Wilson, Chelsea Gray, and Kelsey Plum were the stars of the 2022 title win against the Connecticut Sun. They beat the Sun 3-1.

Gray was named the Finals MVP, and Wilson won the WNBA MVP award and the Defensive Player of the Year honor.
