The Indiana Fever are presently navigating tough times. They had been playing without Caitlin Clark since late July. Recently, they lost Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald to season-ending injuries.
Colson tore the ACL on her left leg, while McDonald has a broken bone in her right foot. Despite missing the trio, the Fever bounced back from a two-game losing skid with a 92-70 victory over the Chicago Sky.

Without Clark in the lineup, Kelsey Mitchell was the star of the game, scoring 26 points. Meanwhile, Lexie Hull, who got the starting spot due to her teammates’ injuries, scored 17 points.
Clark Seeing the Game From a Different Perspective Amid Injury
Clark recently appeared on “Bird’s Eye View with Sue Bird,” where the All-Star guard talked about many things, including how she is dealing with her injury and rehab. She admitted that it has been challenging, particularly as she had not missed games due to injury before the WNBA.
On the bright side, it has given her a new perspective. “This has given me perspective on what so many of my teammates have gone through,” she said. “I’ve never experienced anything like this before, and I think that’s part of why it’s been so hard.
“I’ve never really dealt with injury. So, at first I didn’t understand it. Was I just tight? Was I getting old? Did I need to stretch, get a massage, use some Icy Hot? It’s been a balance of learning to understand my body,” she added.
Clark is confident that her current frustrations will become an important source of knowledge in the future, helping her understand her body better. She also pointed out that it’s not easy for somebody from the outside to fully realize what she is going through.
“I don’t think people on the outside always realize how much time it takes to play at the level we do, and how much extra work goes into it, especially when you’re coming back from injury,” Clark said.
The All-Star guard pointed out that she has been arriving at the arena earlier than her teammates to better prepare her body. She admitted the preparations had been difficult, but boldly declared that she wouldn’t change it for anything.
