Will Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham find herself in a pro wrestling match sometime soon? What about her teammate, Caitlin Clark?
It’s an idea that Cunningham floated when being interviewed recently. In fact, Cunningham commented on potentially either teaming with or going against Nikki Bella, who is a WWE Hall of Famer and one-half of The Bella Twins’ tag team. Nikki and her real-life sister, Brie Bella, are part of the active WWE roster at this time.

When chatting with sports broadcaster Bryanna Sompayrac a while back, Cunningham was asked about her WWE fandom. During Sompayrac’s questioning, Cunningham replied that she had considered taking part in a match.
Cunningham even mentioned “the Twins” in chatting with Sompayrac. Her reference was to the Bella Twins, who are WWE Hall of Famers. Cunningham said that she hasn’t watched WWE in a long time and wouldn’t really know what her ring name would be.

“Do you remember the Twins?” Cunningham asked. “Nikki Bella?” Sompayrac said. “Yes,” Cunningham replied. “So I think it would be fun to partner with them or, like, go against them. That’s what I would do…. Well, hopefully I will take away their shine one day.”
Nikki Bella, though, had a pointed response to Cunningham. Bella, whose real name is Nikki Garcia, said, “Sophia Cunningham said that she’s wanted to take me on. So, I’d like to take her and Caitlin Clark on. That’d be fun. She started it. We’ll finish it.”
An interviewer with Sports Illustrated asked Bella about the reaction from the crowd attending that match if Bella was able to put her finishing move on Clark. “Dude, I’ll rack attack the s**t out of her,” Bella replied.

This, though, is not the only pro wrestling promotion mentioned in connection with Cunningham. According to a Bleacher Report article, Jeanie Buss, whose family is mostly known for its connection to the Los Angeles Lakers as she’s the team governor, also owns the Women of Wrestling promotion.
Last July, Buss reportedly said that she “would love to have” Cunningham make an appearance at one of her promotion’s cards. Cunningham has developed a reputation as Clark’s enforcer, putting anyone who pushes the WNBA superstar around in their place.
Additionally, Cunningham even mentioned on her “Show Me Something” podcast that the WWE had reached out to her in the past.
Now, WNBA and WWE fans wait to see if this “dream match” becomes a reality down the road.
