Caitlin Clark lit up Gainbridge Fieldhouse on June 14 with a shooting performance that had fans and legends alike shaking their heads in disbelief. The Indiana Fever star knocked down seven 3-pointers in a statement win that showcased her deep range and unshakable confidence.
The highlight came in a stunning 38-second stretch late in the first quarter, when Clark drilled three consecutive shots from well beyond the arc, erasing an early deficit and electrifying the home crowd of 17,274. Her hot hand helped power Indiana to a 102–88 win, snapping the previously unbeaten New York Liberty’s streak.
Among those watching in awe was former Liberty star and Basketball Hall of Famer Rebecca Lobo, who called Clark’s long-range barrage “ridiculous” during the broadcast, underscoring just how special the performance truly was.

On ESPN’s “First Take” following the game, Lobo raved about Clark’s performance, calling it “ridiculous” and noting that she’d “never seen this in a WNBA game” despite decades of following the league.
“It means a lot more people are paying attention once again,” Lobo said. “We know how much Caitlin drives ratings. We know how much Caitlin drives attention on the WNBA. For her to come back and do it in that way was just ridiculous.”

Lobo emphasized how Clark’s 38-second burst of three-pointers came in a first quarter when Indiana trailed by double-digits, highlighting the clutch nature of the display.
“I’m sitting there at the end of the first quarter when she had that 38-second stretch where she drained deep three after deep three after deep three,” Lobo added. “I was just sitting there thinking, I’ve been around this league since 1997. I have never seen that in a WNBA game. Have we seen players go on runs? Of course, we have, but not like that, not where a couple of the 3-pointers are from 30-plus feet.”
Clark finished with a line of 32 points on 11-of-20 field goal shooting, including 7-of-14 from three-point range, alongside nine assists and eight rebounds in 31 minutes of play. Three of those triples came from beyond 30 feet, displaying the extraordinary range that fueled much of the Fever’s fire.
Clark’s Seven 3-Pointers Hands Fever Their First Defeat
Indiana as a team connected on 17-of-35 threes, setting a franchise mark for the number of made triples in a game. Kelsey Mitchell added 22 points, Lexie Hull chipped in 14, and Aliyah Boston produced a 10-point, 11-rebound double-double, ensuring balanced support for Clark’s heroics.
For the Liberty, Sabrina Ionescu scored an impressive 34 points and Breanna Stewart added 24, but New York shot just 6-of-29 from deep.
The Fever entered the matchup seeking to rebound from injuries and middling results, while the Liberty boasted an undefeated 9-0 start to their season. Clark had returned from a left quad strain that sidelined her for five games and handed the Liberty their first loss of the season.

Improving to 5-5, the Fever showed they could compete with top-tier opponents, provided they manage health and maintain defensive intensity. For New York, the first defeat of the campaign offers lessons in defensive adjustment and the importance of sustaining offensive balance when chasing deep shooters.
The Fever meet the Connecticut Sun on June 17 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, followed by a game against the Golden State Valkyries at Chase Center on June 19.
