‘Not Be Wearing These’ – Fans Troll Angel Reese for Her Take on Her Signature Shoes Reaching ‘Jordan Brand Status’

Angel Reese’s bold comments on her upcoming Reebok signature shoes sparked major trolling from fans. Find out what they are saying.

Angel Reese has faced her share of challenges this season. The Chicago Sky star has been sidelined for seven consecutive games due to nagging back issues, while her team struggles with an 8-25 record, losing four of their last five contests.

But now she’s found herself in an entirely different battle — one playing out across social media as fans react to her bold prediction about her new signature sneakers.

What Has Angel Reese Said About Her Signature Shoes?

In July, Reebok announced that Reese would officially receive her own signature basketball shoe, marking a significant milestone in her young professional career.

The anticipation reached its peak when it was revealed that the shoes would launch globally on Thursday, September 18. Shoppers can purchase the performance basketball shoes for $120 in adult sizes on Reebok’s website and select retailers worldwide.

However, things shifted after Reese recently expressed her ambition for her sneakers. She noted that she hoped her shoes would become as popular and iconic as Jordan Brand sneakers.

“Just like how they wear Jordans everywhere. I want people to wear the Angel Reese 1s everywhere and just to be a household name, to have no limits on what I can do and what I can accomplish,” said Reese.

The comparison was met with widespread criticism, striking many fans as premature and overly ambitious.

Why Are Fans Trolling Angel Reese’s Signature Shoe Comments?

Initially, the Reebok Angel Reese 1 generated positive buzz when it was revealed in three distinctive colorways: ‘Diamond Dust’, ‘Mebounds‘, and ‘Receipts Ready’. At the time, the shoes received considerable love from fans who appreciated the design and colorway options.

However, after Reese’s latest Jordan comparison comment, the sentiment seems to have completely turned.

“Nah, these are ugly. WE WILL NOT BE WEARING THESE,” said one user, whereas another one wrote, “This fortunately will never happen.”

Fans’ disbelief has reached such levels that many are questioning whether Reese’s comments are genuine. While numerous stars have had signature sneakers, such as LeBron James with Nike, Kevin Durant with Nike, Stephen Curry with Under Armour, and Breanna Stewart with Puma, none have achieved cultural dominance on the level of Michael Jordan.

This type of comment feels unbelievable to some fans, with many confused that it isn’t made by popular parody account “NBA Centel.”

“Can’t believe this isn’t centel,” said one fan.

One fan took the trolling to another level by posting a picture of two actual bricks, stating he had already got his hands on the shoes before the release date.

“I copped. Size 13,” said the fan.

While most fans were busy trolling Reese for her comments, one fan took a different approach. Instead of joining the criticism, they showed some love for the upcoming shoes.

“I speak for everyone when I say WE WILL be BUYING her signature shoe,” said the fan.

For now, Reese’s sneakers are set for a high-profile launch. But whether fans will proudly wear them or continue the trolling online remains the real question.

On the court, Reese still has a shot to close out the season. While the Sky are essentially out of the playoff race, Chicago coaches clarified last week that the former LSU standout is already in the process of preparing to return.
