The Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky game at Wintrust Arena took an unexpected turn when former NBA center Enes Kanter Freedom was ejected during the third quarter.
The incident took place after Kanter got into a heated confrontation with Chicago guard Natasha Cloud, and clips of the moment quickly spread across social media.
Reacting to the moment, former Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma spoke out, criticizing Kanter for trying to stir up controversy during the Fever-Sky clash.

With Indiana leading 81-75 in the third quarter, cameras panned to Sky guard Natasha Cloud directing words toward Kanter, who was sitting courtside.
Kanter responded to Cloud before moving toward the court, and security quickly stepped in to escort the former NBA player away from the playing area.
As Kanter was taken out, the Chicago crowd erupted with loud boos for the former Boston Celtics center.
Hoop Central shared a clip of the exchange on X, which Kuzma reposted and wrote: “Look at the drama queen….. no not Natasha. Grown man stepping over the baseline at a woman 🤡”

Kanter later addressed the incident on X, writing: “I just got kicked out of a WNBA game for supporting WOMEN! Let that sink in, AMERICA!”
In another X post, he added, “It’s always women hating on other women.”
The former NBA center has been in the headlines for his hot takes on the trans-athlete controversy circulating in WNBA circles in recent months.
Earlier in August, Kanter announced that he was declaring for the 2027 WNBA Draft, stating that he and his team had “carefully examined the WNBA’s eligibility criteria and governing framework surrounding self-identification and inclusion.”
His comments and actions have made him a frequent source of debate, and Sunday’s incident added another chapter to that ongoing controversy.
Before the game, Kanter had already attracted attention outside Wintrust Arena, encountering WNBA supporters.
Sporting a t-shirt that read “WOMAN noun. adult human female,” Kanter posted a clip of the moment, captioning it: “We are getting attacked before the @WNBA game in Chicago.”
While the events before the game sparked much debate, Chicago forward Azura Stevens later downplayed the situation.
“There was just a fan incident and the security handled it, and we’re just going to focus on the game,” Stevens said after the game.
While the Fever routed the Sky 113-90 on the back of a 37-point, 10-assist performance from Caitlin Clark, the possible repercussions of Kanter and Cloud’s heated exchange are yet to be announced.
